What about Ian Frazer?

Recommended Posts

Greg Chappell hired his friend..I dont know what was his role.. Its clear case of bringing a friend on board for no particular reason..Who is accountable for hiring Ian Frazer full time..He is not needed full time. Why dint BCCI spend that money on hiring full time bowling coach, full time media manager etc etc.. All I see Board trying to show that its players who are responsible entirely.....Greg Chappell was left scott free..He infact got another contract...I ask Why?? Selectors are the ones who chose team...so if team fails..all the selectors should be sack.... Players anyways have to perform to stay in the team...but what about BCCI, selectors? I dont see Media going after them.

Re: What about Ian Frazer? I am not sure why Ian Frazer should be brought to book? Let me summarise Kabira. India is a team of aging have-beens. It doesnt matter how you slice and dice it but thats what it is. When players like Lara, Mcgrath,Warne etc etc have all called it a day we have our prima donnas suggesting, "We still have a few years left in us". That would have been nice had there been any sign of actually happening. As it is since 2003 we have been going down and down and so on. Now granted Chappell also did not play his role to perfection but every where you look it seems like Indian team was a divided house and the captain was not in charge of the ship. In this situation it is prudent to retire these "have-beens" and possibly either kick the captain out or ask him to pull his shocks. Does it really matter what happens to Ian Frazer when absolutely nothing has happened to Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid etc etc? xxxx

Re: What about Ian Frazer? >Does it really matter what happens to Ian Frazer when absolutely nothing has happened to Sachin, Ganguly, Dravid etc etc? What..Sachin and Ganguly has been dropped from ODIs.. All I am looking for is accountability.. Its easy to point fingers at team and captain... But this team is part of system. It includes BCCI head honchos, selectors and administrators.. Unfortunately we fans only see last 5 games..and similarly the cricket system in our country looks for quick fixes.. BCCI is run by bunch of people who are there to just njoy perks and travel around the world..If team fails, BCCI fails, this includes selectors.. So when you drop Sachin and Ganguly (fair call), nothing has been done with Vengy and others. Chappell seems to be big problem and inspite of getting rid of him, BCCI gives him contract to work with academy..I ask why? on what basis??

Re: What about Ian Frazer? Completely agree with Lurker. When our facking gangsters are getting away with murder in broad day light (which only a Jamaican police dept will have problem seeing), wheres the question of Ian Frazer being a topic of discussion ? Greggy & his gundas are gone, they are history. Now its time to focus on our own thugs :hic: Our selectors dont even have the temerity to give the right reasons for some selections/exclusions. They cannot even drop our non-performers without employing appropriate euphemisms (such as Rested/Rotation/Blooding youngsters) I have been waiting, waiting & waiting for an opportunity to celebrate this team, its players and its achievements. These guys havent delivered squat. They are all sitting on their past laurels & will continue to do so until they are kicked out.

Re: What about Ian Frazer? >Greggy & his gundas are gone no he has contract with NCA..thats what worries me.. >I have been waiting, waiting & waiting for an opportunity to celebrate this team, its players and its achievements. I guess you started watching cricket Post 2005. We have bunch of talented cricketers..coming from most rural areas..They would have not made it to the team without talent and determination...But our f.ucking BCCI kill them with all politics... I think you are over reacting to our WC debacle. BCCI is a problem...It reminds me Steven Covey's P and PC theory.. ...Cricketers and Cricket (P= Production) is Golden Eggs for BCCI...and System that produces is Goose (PC= Production Capabilities). All BCCI is doing concentrating on how can they churn out more golden eggs without looking after Goose itself..

Re: What about Ian Frazer? Ian Frazer was a qualified bio-mechanical specialist and has a long partnership with Greg as his assistant... as a person who implemented Greg's plans... from impartial reports tht i have read, he seems to be a hard-working professional who did what he was told by Greg.... i wouldnt get on the bandwagon of pointing everything wrong in indian cricket towards Greg and Frazer... I feel, everything was going on track until Vengsarkar was let in like a cat among pigeons.... it is hardly wise to point fingers at the greg and ian duo for the WC debacle cos half the side was hardly coached by them in the last year and half tht they were in charge.... vengsarkar jus brot in people who were not part of the worldcup vision and preparation.... it is as simple as tht.... the sonovabeatch is again taking our team a few more years bak, with some retarded selections for the bangla tour...

Re: What about Ian Frazer? Here is one of my earlier posts.... there was another better one... but we can start with this, while i try to dig up the other...

would have put faith in the same team which delivered 21 consecutive run chases against all comers.... Vengsarkar came and behaved like a rabid dog bringing in Jaffer as an odi opener, picking kumble over powar....bringing back Ganguly, while Gambhir could have been confidence and groomed in that time... sending back Pathan in the middle of a tour and breaking his confidence.... He systematically anihilated every single new comer who was making the indian team slowly turn a corner..... he put a stop to sending Dhoni up the order... he got rid of kaif, raina, gambhir, powar, pathan...

Re: What about Ian Frazer? Gator, What was the team when we chased down 17 in a row. and compare it with WC.. SRT Sehwag Pathan Dhoni Yuvi Kaif Dravid Raina Agarkar Bhajji RP Singh/SS/Munaf Now lets see our WC team SRT Ganguly Sehwag Utthapa Yuvi Dravid Dhoni Bhajji Agarkar Zaheer Munaf I dont see much difference..except Ganguly and Zaheer..Utthapa was there in the squad for a while..

Re: What about Ian Frazer? pathan, gambhir, raina, powar and sreesanth were not played.... SRT played some, missed some.... jus look at the fielding difference..... kumble, ganguly, zak are a waste.... the whole dynamics of the team and planning was tossed out.... Mr.Howstat-sarkar keeps pointing to their stats as an arguyment.... bah, if it was only tht easy.... then gavaskar and kapil mus have played....

Re: What about Ian Frazer? Raina was dropped because of his non performance.. Pathan was in squad and terribly out of form..cant blame Vengy for that..can we?? Gambhir got raw deal. There was toss up between SS and Munaf..and Munaf presumbably being better at line and length was chosen. Only major changes were Ganguly and Sachin moving to number 4.

Re: What about Ian Frazer? The things that worked in India's favour when India historically chased that many matches consecutively were three pronged: 1) Pathan was at his best and would always, and I do not mean twice in every 5 games but 5 times in 5 games, would get us to a good start and make sure Opposition were always on the back foot. 2) Yuvraj and Dhoni exploded in the middle and with able support from Dravid. Frankly I can not recall the efforts of SRT and Ganguly in those chases. Ganguly was of course out and even SRT's effort were minimal. 3) Indian fielding was superb. Raina, Kaif and Yuvraj inside the ring saved almost 50 runs every game, took 2-3 catches and made 2-3 run outs, specially Raina who seemed to have a knack for run-outs(and gayish celebrations afterwards). xxxx

Re: What about Ian Frazer? I quite agree with Kabira on certain lines. It's all good pointing fingers at players (they deserve the brick bats anyways) but the selectors, coach, captain, assistant coach and their clones are equally responsible if not fully responsible for the recent form. I still can't believe how Rahul Dravid was retained despite not being able to take India to semis in the CT and past 1st round in the WC. Thanks to Tendulkar that bore the brunt Rahul is safe :hic: I'm certain if Tendulkar hadn't played and India failed Rahul Dravid would have been the first one to be stripped off captaincy. Greg Chappell has been sent packing which is right, players have been dropped, assistant coach has also been dropped which is just right but how about the selectors and the captain?
