Cricket_Fan
Who the hell watches men's volleyball? Women's beach volleyball is what its about? But better than all that is Takraw :adore: To begin with, Volleyball is an Olympic sport and followed by millions in Asia,Europe, North and South Americas:--D. FIVB has more members than even FIFA! Forget all of this, you can see the popularity of volleyball in India itself. Come to Kerala and watch any one tournament, you will get to see jam packed stadium with people vying for the piece of the action . They don't come to see any Khans, Bollywood bimbos but to see powerful and towering athletes setting the court on fire with their smashes, blocks and athletic receptions. Volleyball is one game we Indians should actually start to take seriously. It is one physical sport where we are actually good at. A volleyball player is actually an anti-thesis of perception of an average Indian-Tall,strong and athletic. However, in the team list i have posted here, you can see that we've got pretty tall players and this probably be our most physical team in any team sport. We have a great junior team. In 2009 Junior World cup, we have finished third by beating biggies like USA and Russia and our world rank climbed till 3. In no other popular game where there is such competition, we have achieved anything like this. We need more exposure for our senior team and we should play Europeans and Brazilians more rather than playing Asians more. Hope, SAHARA's sponsorship will enable them to scale those heights.
