Maybe the website developers phikshed it and told no one about it. They just put it on their website...like we ICFers like to post ' You saw it here first'
Most likely it was some testing or widget that was prepared beforehand and accidently put into production.

may be they have screen shots for all possibilities or else they are sure about CSK enetring final..who knows
Seems like the most likely scenario... But its more fun for CSK haterz to have a readymade excuse if the results go in favor of CSK. If CSK loses anyway they can gloat. Win-Win Scenario :giggle:

The most likely scenario is that the techie who wrote the code is a southie who is a CSK supporter. When he used fake data to test it, he showed CSK as the winner. Somehow a part of that data was not deleted when the app was installed on the site.

Simple programming/technical error. As Ganesh said, website admins/devs would be one of the last ones to know any pre-fixed result. And even if they do get to know, they would (should) first do betting... or just publicize in their circles/twitter etc.. before putting on their website.

Websites usually test some new features with fake data. NDTV had tested its election results page with fake data one day before the actual day of result. IIM Udaipur also had to face criticism for testing result publishing (before actual results) which misled may students this year. But the next match widget was there on team pages throughout the league phase. So don't think they were testing something towards the end of tournament. Yes, fixing may not be the case most probably. But what is the actual reason then? coding error?

Thanks to this thread, looked at that IPL site for the first time. very professional and loads of the information a fan may be looking for. If BCCI can manage such an awesome site for the IPL, why not do something similar for its won website?
