Fastest fifty...ever??

No didnt mean to start another thread on Yuvi but this innings of his has to be the fastest 50 in ANY form of the game. In 50 overs match it is Jayasurya with 50 off 17 deliveries. In Test it is Kallis with 50 off 24. So unless statisticians pull out some XYZ game from first class in early 1900's I am pretty positive that this is indeed the fastest 50 played in ANY form of cricket. Count yourself lucky to be part of history ladies and gentlemen. :two_thumbs_up:

There is one from a first class game from 1965 as you guessed, but in dubious circumstances. Clive Inman, a Sri Lankan born player of Leicestershire, hit 50 in eight minutes and 11 balls against Notts. Both teams were trying to contrive a result and the runs were scored against "declaration bowling". Inman took a single off Brian Bolus and hit Norman Hill for 4,4,6,4 and 4,6,6,6,6,4 in two overs. http://cricketarchive.co.uk/Archive/Scorecards/27/27744.html

Top stuff that Tapioca. Didnt know about this. :two_thumbs_up: I suppose in International format 50 off 12 is gonna be tough to beat. I mean even if you hit the ground running and score a four every ball you face from get go, you shall still end up with 48 off 12. To score 50 off lesser number of balls(11 or less) you shall have to have 7 sixes, 2 four or 5 sixes and 5 fours and so on...Quite tough me thinks. xxx
