renjith Posted June 27, 2014 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I get a feeling he will do well overseas in ODIs both pujara and rahane are poor at rotating strike a very important requirement for odis. rahane atleast have the release stroke after playing continuous dots. but pujara does not even have that. he is also a very slow mover in ground both while running between wickets and fielding. 90% of odis happen on flat pitches. so players like pujara are not at all required in odis. he is a seriously good player at test level though. his knee is very dodgy. so letting him play one version is important for helping him to have a long test career as well. all above are considering we have lots of shoe in odi players like robin, kedhar yadav, karun nair, tiwary, .... if pujara where in bangladesh, he would have easily been selected in all formats and got around 20-30 matches to adapt his game for odi format.
