My favorite Cricket star is Great Kapil Dev, his records speak for how discipline, sincere and dedicated he was for the game and country,

- Never ball any NO BALL in his very long cricket career across all formats

- Never Got RUNOUT all formats

- Never got injured through out his playing days

What an Amazing records to have apart from all the great cricketing achievement he did for India, truly a one man turning point for Indian Cricket history

1.       Kapil holds the record for the most innings in a complete career (184) without being run out.Kapil Dev never missed a Test match due to fitness issues. He is one of the most fit players the World has/had

 

2.       He is the youngest test cricketer to take 300 wickets ( 27 years 2days)

 

3.       In  1994, he became the highest Test wicket-taker in the world, breaking the record held by Sir Richard Hadlee. Kapil's record was broken by Courtney Walsh in 1999.

 

4.       In 1988, Kapil overtook Joel Garner to become the highest wicket-taker in ODI cricket. His final career tally of 253 wickets remained a record until it was broken by Wasim Akram in 1994

 

5.       Kapil is the only player to have achieved the all-rounder's double of 4,000 Test runs and 400 Test wickets.

 

6.       At one point of Career he was only player to bag most International Wickets in World. He is the only bowler between Dennis Lillee and Muttiah Muralitharan to achieve this.

 

7.       He is the First ODI centurion maker for India. His 175* against zimbabwe was first ODI century made by Indian.

 

8.       He held the record of Highest ODI score (175* in 1983 WC ) till it was broken by Sir Viv Richards (189*)

 

9.       Height of Sportsmanship : In the 1987 World Cup against Australia, Kapil Dev agreed with the umpires to increase Australia’s total from 268 to 270 as one boundary had mistakenly been marked as 4 instead of 6. India went on to lose the game by 1 run.

 

10.   BEST BOWLING ATTACK FOR ALL TIMES IN TEST CRICKET FOR INDIA : J Srinath & Venkatest Prasad with 142 wkts in 18 matches at AVG 28.17 & S/R 57.48 is best bowling pair in test cricket followed by Karsan Ghavri & Kapil Dev claming 183 wickets with AVG 30.26 & S/R 59.90 in 27 matches
