tweaker Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Would Ben Stokes be able to justify his huge price tag. nanda14792 1
Ultimate_Game Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 It's not for Stokes to justify anything. It's his franchise which decided to bid so much on him. Generally it never pays to put all your eggs in one or two players. Free agency in other professional sports leagues with salary cap such as NFL has shown that it makes much more sense to build depth and to invest in a higher number of solid players than invest most of your salary cap in a just a few stars. I hope some franchise adopts the New England Patriots model and don't overpay for the stars. tweaker 1
Zero_Unit Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 I have a big feeling that they paid too much for him. Might actually be a FLOP this season.
nanda14792 Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 It's not about justifying the price tag. RPS needed a good in form all rounder since there were already questions around Marsh's fitness! PS: Many would argue that woakes cud have been picked as an allrounder, but my dear friends, woakes form was lower than Ben.
tweaker Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 Ben had a reasonably good IPL debut yesterday
tweaker Posted April 8, 2017 Author Posted April 8, 2017 Good chance for Stokes to justify his price tag
