@op looks like its SYDNEY 04 all over again. Ponting not offering shot...ball hitting middle of middle...NOT GIVEN!!! Sharma to Ponting, no run, but thats a good shout! Pitches fuller, Ponting gets the front foot outside the line but doesn't offer a shot, kicking it away, the ball nips back in sharply, Bowden shakes the head but replays show it would have clipped the top of leg stump

FWIW, a lot of Australians aren't as one eyed and blinkered as our friend aussiefan here. Have talked with and come across a good number who're all very keen to see good performances from India. A lot of the locals I talked to at the MCG last year (during the Ashes test) all were very keen on seeing a fine contest when India toured - plenty also said they wouldn't even mind seeing Australia lose to India this year, as it'd set up the series superbly and produce a far more memorable contest than the standard predictable slaughter.

This is Gavaskaresque! Mike Hussey's not been in the best nick this tour, but he's producing a gem here. Fine seam and swing bowling at both ends, yet he's handled it superbly with calm and a few lovely strokes. With his compact, solid technique, cool head and experience, I suspect he might produce a gem here to rival some of Gavaskar's masterful fourth innings knocks and lead Australia to a dually record-breaking victory.
