dial_100 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 That is awesome bossy. This indeed tell the true team strength. From the days, when we used to talk about how we lost and all. I would always plan that how we could save the next game (read draw) ..........and now we are counting fruits...
RamP Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Border - Gavaskar trophy - who held it for the longest period? The BG Trophy was instituted in 1996 with an one off test which India won. The next series was in 1997 in India which we won 2-1 We lost the next one in Australia 3-0. So India held the trophy for 3 years. Aussies held the trophy for 2 years before losing 2-1 in 2001. The next series was a draw in 2004 and we held on to the trophy for 4 years till 2005 when we lost the series 2-1. So far India 3+4=7 years and Australia 2 years The next series in Australia we lost 2-1 in 2007-08 but we snatched the trophy back in the same year in 2008 with a 2-0 win. Now Australia 2+3=5 years By winning or squaring this series, we have ensured that the trophy will stay in India atleast until 2012. Thats another 4 years. Final score India 11 years Australia 5 years In terms of no. of series India - 5 (96, 97, 01, 08, and possibly 10*) Australia - 3 (99, 05, 08) Draw - 1 (04) In terms of no. of tests India - 11 (96 [1], 97(2), 99[0], 01[2], 04[1], 05[1], 08[1], 08[2], 10[1]) Aus - 10 (97[1], 99 [3], 01[1], 04[1], 05[2], 08[2], 08[0]) We are going to own this trophy...:two_thumbs_up:

You are creating threads on subjects which exist, why not do a simple search? If you start a new topic no one is going to move your thread.
