LAHORE: The PCB Governing board will discuss central contracts of the national players, issue of ICL-bound players and breach of code of conduct by fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar in its meeting at Karachi today (Friday). This is going to be the second meeting of the board after its formation and a number of items are on the agenda. The PCB has announced a number of committees to prepare proposals to tackle different issues to be discussed in the meeting. This meeting is expected to be very important as the items on the agenda would have a great impact on the future cricket. The members will approve the nominated players for the central contract on the basis of their previous year's performance. The PCB had offered central contracts in three categories last year while introduced a point system based on their international performance and their behaviour under a code of conduct. The players with maximum points will be offered category A, while the rest would be offered category B and C level contracts. The board will also consider the issue of banning the players who played in the controversial Indian Cricket League (ICL). The PCB chairman Dr. Nasim Ashraf has already announced a ban on the ICL-bound players for playing in the domestic cricket while the payers were not eligible to be selected in the national team. But the announced policy had not been endorsed by the PCB governing board. The board will thrash out different aspects of the issue and approve a comprehensive policy regarding the banned players. It is worth-mentioning that if the banned players did not find any relief in the meeting, the contracted players will be replaced by new players. The other main item on the agenda is the manager report on the Indian tour where a number of incidents arose that include some sever breach of the code of conduct by fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. The board meting will discuss the issue and decide Shoaib's fate. The chairman PCB Dr. Nasim Ashraf has already announced that his mater could be handed over to the PCB disciplinary committee. The performance of the Pakistan junior and senior teams will also be discussed in the meeting. Apart of the International cricket issues, proposals put up by the committees on domestic cricket and Games Development will also be considered. The PCB governing board comprises Dr. Nasim Ashraf (Chairman), Farooq Rehmat Ullah, Ali Raza, Lt. Gen. Retd. Munir Hafiz, Aslam Sanjrani, Justice Ejaz Yousuf, Intikhab Alam, Ejaz Butt, Moeen Afzal, Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah, Wisal Durrani, Shakeel Sheikh, Mian Munir, Abdul Raquib and Aamir Hayat Rokari. :yay:

This guy was Pakistan's only hope against Australia. Not that Pakistan have any hope of beating Australia ('cos they are turd) but with Shoaib in their ranks, they at least had an outside chance of taking maybe one test as far as tea on the 4th or even (gasp) 5th day. Without him they will lose each test by an innings in less than 4 days flat

The day when Pakistan cricket gets rid of Shoaib once and for all, it will be the dawn of a new beginning for them, from when onwards they can build a disciplined, strong and talented team that will matches consistently. Shoaib is one of the worst things that has happened to Pakistan cricket, he has done them more harm than good, given them more moments to feel ashamed rather than be proud.

Shoaib was a handicap for his team in the last two tests against India. He should have voluntarily backed out if he was not ready. At least they could have played another bowler. What a wastage.
