 - the same number as Sachin Tendulkar

- two more than Virat Kohli

- three more than Rohit Sharma

- and four more than MS Dhoni

 

Except Sharma, all others have played more innings in England than Pant.

 

Yet he will still face criticism for the way he gets out or for his belly.

Awful Test captaincy debut. Short spells for spinners, no instructions to them to bowl slower, unimaginative field settings. Ultimately Bumrah and Siraj bowled more overs than all spinners in the first innings.

 

Super casual body language and batting approach as if it's a practice match. Not captaincy material at all.
