PaiN_KiLLeR
Results for 165 of the 272 constituencies are out and Mushy's PML (Q) has bagged just 25 seats. His allies MMA have won another 20 seats or so. Bhutto's PPP and Sharif's PML (N) have secured 60 seats each so far. So in all likelyhood a new govt will be formed in Pak ..... and we can expect another army coup within 6 months .

PaiN_KiLLeR
With the entire world focussing on these elections he must've been under lot of pressure to keep it fair.
kablooee87
I didn't think it was possible, but we actually had good news coming out of these elections. Not only did they pass fairly peacefully, but this was a definite anti-establishment vote. There is a definite trend of the people voting out a government. This is a very good sign as it means people are starting to make politicians accountable. The MMA was never really going to get many votes because Jamaat-e-Islami boycotted the election. But the Q league losing so many seats was a pleasant surprise (scumbags like Sheikh Rasheed and near certainties like Chaudhry Shujaat lost their home ridings). Lurker
Good to see this. Still early days to say whats gonna happen but seems like writing is on the wall for Musharraf, would be very hard for him to dismiss this election. The key would be to see how the two leading parties work out their differences.
suraj
I have no hope from Pakistan few weeks later they'll be beack to Dictatorship, coups and same old nonsense about Kashmiri brothers, Indian enemies blah blah blah

PaiN_KiLLeR
There are chances of the PPP allying with Mushy's PMLQ (which is shocking) .... which will leave Sharif out in the cold. Oh and the MMA is willing to be a part of any alliance as long as it gets to be in power.
The Outsider
Hopefully, Musharraf will honor the results of the elections with so much international pressure on him, but somehow I get a feeling he'll try to create some kind of an extra constitutional post for himself from where he can always control whoever is in power. talksport
Cant impeach Musharaff .....Because he has got Senate and they need two thirds. Always good not to have complete majority...so that they fight amongst themselves instead of concentrating on neighbours:D
suraj
Like I said earlier no hope from these good-for-nothing fanatic neighbours hazaar election kara lo corruption, dictatorship, religion and fanaticism will dominate Pakistan through ages with little hope of progress
