A Gift to all Rahul Dravid Haters

Dravid undoubtedly is a legend, be it ODI or test. He struggled a bit in first 2 years in ODIs but thats normal. Other than that he has been outstanding. Okay Gambo yaar at least be fair to Dravid. Why was Dravid not been able to score runs at the SR of 75 or 80 because... - Useless players like Sehwag would throw his wkt. In his last 120 innings he lasted for an avg of 29 balls on the creez scoring avg of 28 runs. - So in the game when SRT is out early (who would at least play an avg of 50 balls a match) - Following them would be Gangly, who had a very bad patch in those couple of years. Who most often wouldn't last more than 20-30 balls. -Mongia or Kaif who were very slow scorer anyway Leaving greater responsibility on Yuv to score fast. In these points that I have given you, just put a mix of either fast and swinging conditions. You will find it difficult to score runs, where steady player like RD (The legend) would sail the ship through the storm. We have seen in the Current CB series, in the seaming and swinging conditions, these pathetic players cant even score 160 runs.... Show me how many matches have we lost when Dravid played where targets were less than 220-230. And tell me why?? He has played down many difficult bowlers shielding Yuv, Kaif and even Ganguly, VVS at times. Why do you expect him to have a sky high avg of 80-90. And I consider avg of 40 is best because he sometimes wont get to bat more than 5-10 overs. No dravid/SRT... team failed http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/statsguru/engine/match/66355.html Check this one out, against minows or tiger pushed dravid way down the order. He didnt get to bat. http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/statsguru/engine/match/65257.html Wow, what a game this was.... after 50 for 2, SRT/SG gone, this guy makes 3 big partnerships, 50 with VVS, 100 with Sehwag and another 60+ with Dahiya before getting out on 80 in 84 with team total reading 283-6 in 43.5 overs. http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/statsguru/engine/match/64706.html

^ Exactly ... a lot of his career was spent picking up the peices, and often had to deal with situations where India were 3/50 or 4/60 and have to rebuild. Its unfair to criticise his SR. I have seen him really up the anti when needed. Look at most of the games when Sachin and Sourav got us off to good starts, Dravid usually capitalised. Take a look at the 2nd match of the england series.
