rtmohanlal
Yes.... all is well that ends well. But inspite of this, we must not over look a few alarming bells, especially what I indicated in the heading. Our incompetent lot could put up a mere 40 runs in 2 inns. And the player who remained not out in both inns was Bumrah, who is almost a Chris Martin level and could have got out any moment. This despite having us only needed to set targets. On the other hand take AUS's case, put up 156 runs on the board , that too when chasing targets. And what not , by far the bowler who scored the most was a 10 down batsman in Lyon who remained not out in both the inns with 24 & 38 runs respectively , that too in only 28 & 47 balls each. Almost sure Lyon is about to get promotion in the order in the coming matches. And our lot put up a paltry 4 runs at the cost of 4 wkts in the 2nd inns with the most important culprit being Rahane. The moment he chose to play the most reckless shot was the one where he needed to apply the most and put as much runs on the board as a he could by shielding the tail enders. Ashwin has been a pale of his own in batting ever since his twin 100s in WI. Shami bats as if it is just a formality. His method is aggressive right from the start, but almost always gets out in the first 2 or 3 attempts in which he tries to slog. This is a very serious problem that needs to be solved before we move into the 2nd test. Other wise this lone factor can cost us the series. Thoughts. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
