I always like to try different recipes and some come out OK, but this was on my best A Classic Bengali Dish - Prawn Malaikari http://www.daawat.com/recipes/indian/nonveg/seafood/prawnmalaikari.htm The magic is in that coconut milk at the end with garnishing of cloves and cardammon --------- Besides this, I usually wacth FoodTV for different shows and recipes and came across restaurant review show. They were reviewing a place called Vij's, an Indian restaurant in Vancouver. NY Times reviewed it as one of the worlds best Indian Restaurant While watching it, I realized that I had met up with "Online" ( ICF User ) there last year but I never really browsed the menu http://www.vijs.ca/index_in.htm It's a truly Gourmet Indian a la fusion, with items like pork tenderloin in curry to lamb Popsicles ( would be awesome with a nice red wine ) So do ICF'ers eat out a lot, like to try different things..have some awesome recipes to share

Its called Banjara .. near Malvern Station .. I found it when I used to live in Glen Iris .. I still go there every now and then ... excellent Momos and good chilli chicken ... Great desi noodles :two_thumbs_up:

Actually...I find most of the curries too mild and sweetish in the restaurants regardless of telling them to make it hot..."Bombay by Night" is okay (Seekh Kebabs are exceptional)..."Singhs" was good but I think it has closed down..."Guru da Dhaba" in my student days...haven't been for ages..."Haveli" is still good (Doncaster)...Kerala style to the curries with Mughlai food too (Dosa sambar brunch on Sundays)..."Kadai" is not bad..."Nirankaar" in the city has nice Tandoori prawns but it's pricy...

where is it and do they have rumali roti too ?
I am not sure about the rumali roti...It's in North Road, Ormond...on the expensive side though... There is another one...run by a sardar Brighton/Gardenvale somewhere....I forget the name...that was the best so far...I will check with my friend and get back to you...
