But protesters say it's time for change It's time the world completely turned its back on the concept of monarchy and power-by-dynasty. Royalty is like an appendix - a vestige with no more use to society anywhere. Amassing wealth by any means possible, passing it on to your sires simply because they were born in to it, killing indiscriminately for any act that was deemed a betrayal, corruption, enslavement, depravity ... you name the vice and royalty has perfected it. Start with the British royalty - other than outdated symbolic pomp and circumstance, what do they contribute to the world, really? Once this queen passes on, dissolve the whole thing and make them museum pieces. And the obsession with royalty in India is nauseating - heck, every other IPL team is a King or a Royal of some sort. At least they don't wield much power in India. But from Dubai to Bangkok to Madrid to Tokyo - let 'em go, let them live in the real world, start from scratch and amass wealth like Gates, Ambani and Bezos if they'd like. But it's time to kick them and their unlimited powers to the curb. <<end rant>>
