javier26 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Australia were looking set to concede a lead of over 100 when Specialist Captain took the attack to himself. Paine not only scored 73 runs but also in 99 balls . Had he Tuk Tuked and just looked to survive he would have only got 20 odd runs even if he had managed to play the same number of balls. Even though India still managed to get a lead, Paines knock shifted some momentum in his teams favour and set a platform for Aussie bowlers to take advantage. Completely going into the shell and scoring Pujaresque knocks like 23 (133 ) is not a wise approach all the time.
R!TTER Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 I don't believe Oz had momentum at the end of the 2nd day, we played horribly today. Some of those balls were unhittable but most could've been negotiated with better thinking (mindset) & a proper technique, most if not all the edges were due to angled bat or it's face being opened when the ball was moving away!
