umpire Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 You are invited to Join ABHISHEK NAYAR FAN CLUB What a great innings, I can see him playing for India soon. Totally impressed with his cool attitude.
ludhianvi Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 seems like nobody wants to join :D He played quite well. The turning point was him taking that dreaded single off the no ball in the last over turning the strike over to Agent Nehra
Chandan Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I think he'll learn all that with experience--which single to take and which to deny. But this lad can play under pressure and that is for sure. Only if Mumbai had one more solid batsman, they could have pulled it off. But full marks to Nayar. Had he got another batsman at the other end, he could well have pulled a stunner!
Desi Cartman Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 can I join tomorrow .. today I'm busy celebrating SRT's Bday !
PaiN_KiLLeR Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 what about his bowling? he is supposed to be an all-rounder.
Temujin Khaghan Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 he should have denied the single. second that
graphic23 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 what about his bowling? he is supposed to be an all-rounder. I will never trust the Indian media or the team management when they call someone an allrounder. Press Question: Why was Ajit Agarkar selected in the team despite having a poor outing in the last 200 matches that he's played? Answer: Not only is Ajit a very good fast bowler, but he's a terrific allrounder. He adds great value to our side. That about sums it up. So until he can bowl at >=80 mph consistently and bat really well consistently, I don't think he should/can be called an allrounder. I am not sure at what speeds Nayar bowls at but based on some of the responses by his coaches, not very fast.
