veer Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Its a mystry to me. India has tremendous cricket fan following / money following.. but still we have pathetic umpires who easily wilt under pressure and errs in judgement.. BCCI needs to open umpire's acadamy or clinic..

umpire Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 what you mean we can't produce good umpires? Tell me who produces good umpires? Good umpire is an oxymoron. The quality that they have in ICC Panel, we have better umpires, Jayprakash, Hariharan and co. are as good as the ones in the Panel.

They are good in the field job of umpiring, may be they lack extra-qualifications such as to be pro-whites, fixing, controversial, etc.
