bobbydhillon Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 buddy, there is no cap in baseball. cap has to be in cricket like nba and nfl otherwise ambani and mallaya will kill the competition though high payroll doesnt gurrantee success, look at baseball and washington redskins who use novel way to buy players still they cant win anything and ofcourse best example yankees
Bumper Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Bumper' date=' starting next year, there will be no cap I believe. That's what I read somewhere.[/quote'] That'll be stoopid. Already players are overpaid in IPL. Ambani will lineup all stars in ONE team.
Rohan495 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 yea true that but the salary cap must increase somehow eventually. Even with an unlimited salary cap certain restrictions can be placed bearing in mind that Ambani and Mallya are both riches of the world.
vinayak1986 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 can someone tell me the rules for player trades?? will they have a new auction every year like the NBA ??
bobbydhillon Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 can someone tell me the rules for player trades?? will they have a new auction every year like the NBA ?? nobody knows for sure, atleast i dont . this whole thing is still evovling as they go
Desi Cartman Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 if peitersn gets paid 4mil by MI .. then does it mean that SRT gets 125% of that ?
swami1984 Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 I'd also like to see the back of YoMahesh if a bowler like RP Singh or Ishant is available. RP deserves to play for a better team, one better than Hyderabad you better give up something really good for getting either RP or Rohit from DC
ludhianvi Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 if peitersn gets paid 4mil by MI .. then does it mean that SRT gets 125% of that ? is that 4mil over a 3 year period of is that his salary annually?
swami1984 Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 is that 4mil over a 3 year period of is that his salary annually? annual
ludhianvi Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 annual are you serious? Then that means cricketers will be making similar to the the NBA or NHL stars. That's a $hit load of money.:omg:So he'll make 12 mil in 3 years
swami1984 Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 are you serious? Then that means cricketers will be making similar to the the NBA or NHL stars. That's a load of money.:omg:So he'll make 12 mil in 3 years yes well ambanis are richer than anyy nba/nhl owner
Desi Cartman Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 is that 4mil over a 3 year period of is that his salary annually? I think its per year. Its a loooot of money :omg:
vinayak1986 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 no,iam pretty sure its for one year.. cuz in the article they mentioned he will beat dhoni to become the highest paid.. dhoni has above $4mil for 3 years
yoda Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Dhoni is @ 1.5x3=4.5 for 3 years. No one is going to pay any player 3 times the current max. BTW, the article says he has been offered 4 mil for a 3 year contract and also adds his final figure could top that of Dhoni's, meaning he might negotiate for something more than 1.5/year. Not 4/year. http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/ipl/content/current/story/351314.html
amits Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 from the delhi team these players must go: shoaib malik asif yomahesh - should play for some other team we should look to try & get these players - afridi - he will be better utilized in the delhi team collingwood - after england players r available. can score quick runs & be useful with the ball. other teams have expressed their interest in pietersen & flintoff ali murtaza - if icl ban is removed before next ipl starts morne morkel is already there with some other team the xi could look something like sehwag gambhir© dhawan collingwood manoj tiwary dinesh kartik(w) afridi maharoof amit mishra ali murtaza mcgrath
Rohip Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 Which players do you want in and out of your favourite franchise next season? State your team and then which players you want rid of and which players you want to replace them
