He would have been a good fit in t20s even without his bowling- A LH batters, Can open, can bat anywhere in the top six. 

 

His bowling may be bit underpower mostly bowls below under 125 kmph, but that could have been good when none of the options are going well.

And its not like Ind T20i specialist bowlers are not going for 20 runs an over. 

 

Dravid and TM kind of derailed his carrier- asked him to play in the middle, he did decent in whatever T20is he played, tried taking that role in domestics and IPL to improve, but then he was forgotten, not sure any1 would like to vacate their Opening slot in Ind cricketing circuits, this is where you get lot of runs and reckoning.

 

 

Same thing happened to Rahul Tripathi, kind of same thing being repeated with Jitesh(relatively  untested in Intnl cricket, but has been doing this job in domestics for years and now in IPL )- Ind clearly needing a finisher at the 6/7 but they are trying to fit in Kishan who can only open even one-down is not his spot. Plus he is getting you kind of start you want at the top.
