Guest dada_rocks Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 TExt of the deal can't be shatred with third party.. And socalled summary which they present to leftist raises many questions. ( they have not bothered to extend even this courtesy to opposition and are looking for bipartisan support).. So far in response to those queries he said she said methos is ON>> Sometimes american ambassdor in India has said this sometimes asst secretary of states has said that.. Bottomline is on what paper have you signed that opposition wants to know.. And what is this confidentiality opposition are not traitor tomorrow they may be in power.. this kind of pssyfooting serves no purpose unless govt has somethign to hide.. IF Vajpayee can call mulayam and show him defence deal documents with Russia why is sonia maino and her stoog playing coy.. More u hide more suspicious it gets.......
Guest dada_rocks Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 NPT does not limit our access to indegeneously developed nuclear weapons... but forget that, why do we need nuclear weapons? The united states and russia have declared their current nuclear capacity, do not make any new nuclear weapons and have moved to decommission a good two thirds of their nuclear arsenal which is being broken down to create nuclear fuel for reactors. once we can match this level of commitment towards non proliferation, maybe then we can claim that indeed, we are a responsible nuclear power (which we indeed are, just arent willing to admit it since admitting that our process is civil and transparent, we will some how be conceeded a bone to "the evil imperial americans") TWho is going to tell it's indigenous or nto indigenous.. bunch fo guys will sit and take decisoon to put sanction and that will be it.. Why just 2/3rd I ask complete decommission and no first use policy to be employed across the board then only i can be assured that these guys won't use those weapons if it came to that..

Its a valid requirement, and while i support you on that, i just dont think it is pragmatic. as for mulayam gaining access, i believe that must have been when he was the defense minister (correct me if i am wrong), and i assume the cabinet or atleast the committe on national security and defense has gained full access... again just an assumption. here in united states, where they are gung ho about transparency (and achieve it in some measures, but not as much as in say the scandanavian or belarus nations), the defense budget is rarely decommissioned outside the national security advisor and joint chiefs of staff.
cowboysfan Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 My question is..do we really need any more nuclear detonations?? i think our nuclear bomb technology ( according to Dr. Kalam) is advanced enough. we only have dangers from Pakistan and China. China can not detonate any more nuclear bombs because of some treaty and Pakistan will be bombed to stone age if they even prepare to do it.. so our security concerns are adressed with our present capabilities.... and we need Australia's Uranium for our Plants.. these commies are acting on the behalf of China.. i think there should be national debate involving eminent scientists and diplomats involved in this deal..and they should clear all the doubts of any one..including commies... i remember one Voting slogan which congress uses for commies in elections in WB... Hanshua Hathoda Taara..Jisne desh ko Beegada:giggle: we dont need more tests.none of the other countries who have nuclear weapons test anymore. All kinds of tests can be simulated. The only tests we need is the delivery system.I think India needs long range ICBMs to counter the chinese threat.

Guest dada_rocks Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 YOu can always talk peace with F-16 in your pocket.. whoever said this must be a wise man.. Yes, India does need more tests in smaller load stratgeic bombs category..

Yes, India does need more tests in smaller load stratgeic bombs category.. do you know how obsolete the f-16 is when compared too the new generation of sukhois? or for that fact, the complete impracticality of deploying f-16s in a first launch attack. burn this into your brain: pakistan will not attack india in an all out war (repeat as neccessary). times have changed, the new war is found with economies, not figher jets.
theguyinallblue Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 all said and done....we have something to gain...what is america's interest in indian nuclear power?? is it that precious nuclear supply that american companies are looking at..or those lucrative nuclear power plant projects they are interested in?? what are their business interest ??
Guest dada_rocks Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Offshoot of this story: Mayawati: Suddenly finds herself in dock with CBI sprinign into action. When she helped lect Pratibha rubber-stamp Patil in those days she was clean and CBI was sleeping Laloo: The chief thief has got all cases either dropped or sent into complete abeyance Mulayam: NOw it's his tern to get some breather from CBI.. Openly CBI is being used as a tool for political vendetta and no freaking body in media is pointing these things out. Playing footsie along with congress in this dirty game.. I guess anything is kosher for facade of psecism
Guest dada_rocks Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 meanwhile forked-tongue tamasha is on, document which was presumably classified 24 hours back is there in oone for everyone to see

THX_1138 Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 1)US companies will earn billions building and supplying new parts for the reactors in india. 2)any reduction in dependence of India of oil is good for America . 3)India is and will be the most strategic partner in Asia for the US to counter and balance China's dominance. i dont know about billions, we build our own reactors, and are quite proficient at it... more out of neccessity due to foreign imposed sanctions following the 1970s tests. however, we might be adopting a different approach with the new reactors... our current approach is to produce "breeder reactors", reactors that sort of progressively breed fuel and have a greater output, better effeciency, however produce considerable nuclear waste that when not weapons grade, can be a major concern if proliferated by undesirable elements. the traditional reactors built in the west are not quite as effecient by their waste is not quite as toxic... easily packaged, stored and not so much of a threat even in the case of a catastrophe.
novpj Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 I cant understand this concern for flexibility on developing nuclear weapons when we cant feed the people and provide them with water and reliable electricity; also on power prices - we cant afford to make decisions based on historical prices; the trends are clear - next two decades are going to be marked by shortage of commodities and the key themes will be upgrade of productivity and technology to meet the growing demands of billions of people who are improving their quality of life

Guest dada_rocks Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 After refusing to quit his post despite pressure from the CPI-M leadership, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has now written to party General Secretary Prakash Karat saying he doesn't want to vote with the BJP against the Manmohan Singh Government. In the letter that was sent on Monday, he said he didn't want to cling to the Speaker's chair but if he didn't preside over the trust vote, he'd have to vote with the BJP, something he couldn't bring himself to do This is the same idiot who was part of coaltion including BJP which help V P Singh govt in power..:haha:
