To be fair, though Bangladesh may have had a cricketing culture and setup prior, they only became a full ICC member in the year 2000. They have sucked so far, yes but its not been that long in real cricketing coming of age terms the way I see it.

It's been 26 years since getting Test status for B'desh and before that as well they used to play Asia Cups and made their intl debut in early 80s. IIRC SL got Test status in 1981 and made their intl debut in 70s. And given B'desh has played lot more matches compared to what SL got, they haven't done anywhere close to what SL did. If Ireland, Netherlands or Scotland had received this much support, they would've done a lot better.
