Tillu Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Form guide Bangladesh: WLWLL (Last five completed ODIs, most recent first) Pakistan: WWWWL In the spotlight: Litton Das & Shaheen Shah Afridi Despite his woeful ODI form in the last two years, the selectors welcomed back Litton Das into the format, as they hope Litton's skills against spin will get them back on track. Litton will also retain the ODI gloves, with coach Phil Simmons hoping that batting at No. 5 will also provide him some rest after a wicketkeeping stint. The onus will now be on Litton to improve his ODI form that went kaput as far back as December 2023. Shaheen Shah Afridi will be looking to make it a hat-trick of ODI series wins as captain after winning 2-1 and 2-0 against South Africa and Sri Lanka respectively in his first two series as skipper. Afridi though, arrived in Bangladesh after a pretty average T20 World Cup campaign, when he took eight wickets but conceded runs at 10.52 per over. Team news: Plenty of debutants for Pakistan Litton and Afif will bat in the middle order, while Bangladesh could just go with two pace options. Bangladesh (probable XI): 1 Saif Hassan, 2 Soumya Sarkar, 3 Towhid Hridoy, 4 Najmul Hossain Shanto, 5 Litton Das (wk), 6 Afif Hossain, 7 Mehidy Hasan Miraz (capt), 8 Rishad Hossain, 9 Taskin Ahmed, 10 Tanvir Islam, 11 Mustafizur Rahman ODI debutants Farhan, Shamyl and Sadaqat will form the top three, according to captain Afridi. Middle-order batter Abdul Samad is also set to make his debut. Pakistan (probable XI): 1 Sahibzada Farhan, 2 Maaz Sadaqat, 3 Shamyl Hussain, 4 Mohammad Rizwan (wk), 5 Salman Agha, 6 Hussain Talat, 7 Abdul Samad, 8 Faheem Ashraf, 9 Shaheen Shah Afridi (capt), 10 Mohammad Wasim, 11 Faisal Akram ESPNcricinfo
tapandrun Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) Pak should have sent babar and Ayub. Akaram is LA wrist spin a good pick,Maaz had good emerging asa cup but not that good bpl, Samad is like a big hitting finisher that Pak team is trying. Not sure if Pak team is taking this tour as prep. for the SA WC. Shaheen should have rested , he gt injured in bbl and had to leave the league in between due to injury and made hasty recovery just before the T20i WC. He has done this multiple times that after injury he has played cricket even when he has not fully recovered. For Wcs players do that but this is just a bilateral series Bd has not been good in Odis for sometime now , they should give some games to Nahid can be useful in SA,Only Santo, Sarkar and Dhar have odi avg above 30, but in the whole team no one has 35+ Odi avg. Bd has been the most difficult tours in LOIs in recent times for the touring teams. In last 5 years Bd has only lost 2 home Odi series out of 8. those were vs afgn and eng Edited March 11 by tapandrun
rageaddict Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Would not be surprised to see Bangladesh win this series convincingly.
rageaddict Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Bangladesh have even a more impressive pace attack than Pakistan Musta, Taskin, Nahid, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful. .
New guy Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Lol classico is a brilliant name, well done! @Tillu Need4Speed, bouncers, Tillu and 1 other 2 2
Tillu Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Nahid Rana took down Rizzu Symonds as well. All 4 wickets to him.
Tillu Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 (edited) Agha jee also gone to Rana. He's making them dance with his pace. Shame shame puppy shame to Agha jee. He was caught at short leg in an ODI match. Edited March 11 by Tillu
Tillu Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Faheem took a nasty blow on the grille from Taskin. Finish him off.
Tillu Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Just now, VT87 said: Why did they drop Babar? He is the biggest softie. Even he wouldn't be able to do anything. Nahid was bowling thunderbolts. Manucrick 1
Tillu Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 This is not the usual tatti pitch from BD. It's good to bat on this wicket. New guy 1
