I was shocked when I read this news today. More so since this is not the first such incident in recent days. It seems to be increasingly common. It is one thing to have 2 policemen die, completely different to have 17 or so perish. What made it worse was how little was it covered by the Indian media. Without being cynical had the same number of cops gotten killed in Pakistan(or BD or Iraq or Afganistan) that would have probably merited more response by Indian media. Maybe the Pakistani media would be actively broadcasting this. I sometimes have to wonder if the bulk of Indians even care for states like Orissa?? No I am not being judgemental but surely if India is to grow as a country an average Indian should know the difference between Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack, no?
