Never thought I'd see the day when sandtest complains about anti-USA content. :--D
Well, I am not anti-USA...I am a rational Nationalist who only cares about Best INTERESTS of Bharat. balatant anti-USA indoctrination of young college going Indians is definately not in the best interests of India. Instead I would have preferred if they included the evangelical NGOs functioning in tribal areas of India and educate about the rate of conversion happening and therefore resulting in demographic change. I have seen evnagelicalization in Vasai and Virar near Mumbai from my naked eye where some poor folks get converted for money. Once again, Narendra Modi realized this very early in Gujarat and legally banned by law those conversions orchestrated by missionaries which are for lure of money and paid job in missionary activitry. Do you know why some US congressmen written a letter to Condi Rice to not grant a diplomat Visa to Modi?? It has nothing to do with Gujarat riots or whatever. USA will not give a sheet about how many Indians get killed and why. USA is denying Visa to Modi, beacuse it was NAMO who shown the way to all other state governments by inacting law to ban evangelical conversions. US evangelical Congressmen are p!seed mainly becuase of this and afraid that if NAMO rises in India they can kiss a goodbye to evangelicalization of tribal area heathens in India. For that reason they are launching a character assassination attack on Modi by demanding and advertising his rejection of Visa to deliver speech in USA. It has nothing to do with Gujaarat riots. I want India and USA to form closer alliance on EQUAL terms. I love USA and at the same time I hate missionaries mainly funded by USA.

Link of NCERT is given read it and COMMENT about it if you have any knowledge
I have browsed through the article and found nothing inaccurate or non-factual in the article.
But problem is how to remove this balatant leftist biase in Indian history.
By taking off your blatant hindu-mullah right-wing bias...duh!
it was almost like reading a Hamas/Fatah or Mahdi Armies propaganda magazine of evil-amreeka rhetorics.
So then point out what inaccuracies and falsehoods are propagated in that book.
Sad that NO responsible intellectual in India ever cared to verify p-sec jornos propaganda and Arun Shourie/Manohar Joshis sincere efforts of cleaning Indian history books, they all were so much impressed by the word "saffronization" shoved down in their psyche that they took it as gospel truth
I find those who wrote that book to be far mroe responsible intellectualists than you or your ilk who hold Nazi-esque superiority complex and mumbo-jumbo about Indian sages civilizing the cavedwelling middle-easterners and Europeans..pffft!

I dont think its the job of NCERT to educate teens on foreign policy and world affairs. That is blatant bias.
Why not ? world affairs and foreign policy are part of high school curriculum in Canada.

I suspect this is a deliberate long term planned attempt to destabilize India by inciting hatred towards USA among young Indians at a time when India is getting closer to USA against commie anger and protest.
Yet the kind of talk you and your hinduvta fanatics tote isnt inciting hatred ? This book presents the facts about American hegemony over the world..i checked with my school teacher friends out here and the social studies books in grade 12 Canada are a lot more hard-hitting about US foreign policy. Yet Canadians are pretty chummy with the US. So your 'this will incite hatred' is a total OTT remark and perhaps reflective of YOUR psyche of shotgun hatred/love due to YOUR fundamentalist nature.

Its like they have 'decided' its illegal.
Ofcourse it is illegal. DUH. When you invade a nation- you MUST give reasons for the war to be sanctioned by the UN/world body and thus be deemed legal. US gave the reasons (WMD) to invade Iraq and got the go-ahead. Then it turned out that the reasons US gave were categoric LIES and therefore, the war by default is illegal !!! It doesnt take a world court to determine this very simple chain of logic and its veracity.

What has been said in that book are facts...or atleast, i've not noticed any factual errors. And teaching kids facts is anything but indoctrination. and if it is indoctrination, then they are indoctrinated in facts- which is completely okay by me. You are simply ASSUMING that the reaction to the US will be negetive based on these facts- i am one of the biggest critics of the US and yet i don't mind then too much and actually will side with their policies more often than not. perhaps what needs to be taught to Indian school children as well as you is not to form an opinion too quickly and not to defend an opinion when facts are in the face of it.
Instead I would have preferred if they included the evangelical NGOs functioning in tribal areas of India and educate about the rate of conversion happening and therefore resulting in demographic change.
So ? I have no problems with that whatsoever and any genuine human being shouldnt have a problem with that. The Christian NGOs who've converted a lot of those tribals have done more for the tribals in the last 50 years than your pyaare hindu samajsevaks have done for the last 2000. These tribals have better access to food, water, electricity, healthcare and especially schools, thanks to these Christian NGOs. That they chose to believe the Christian fairytale of the man who was crucified over the hindu fairytale of the man who waged war for his wife and then kicked her out coz some random dude questioned her chastity is of no consequence. Those are simply arbitary matters of beleif. The Christianisation of the tribals is a positive thing because they now have far better human development than before and i'd rather have developed people who believed in whatever fairytale they chose to believe over undeveloped casteist people being discriminated against but chose to believe in a fairytale that i like.
beacuse it was NAMO who shown the way to all other state governments by inacting law to ban evangelical conversions.
Heh heh...what an awesome man...the Mao Zedong of Hinduism...people want to trade in one fairytale for another and get some much needed cash but Mao Modi says 'no, cant change faith in my land'. ahahahahaha...what an awesome, secure and progressive religious herald this guy is. If you can't beat their theology, ban them. :haha::haha:
I want India and USA to form closer alliance on EQUAL terms
Right after India and Bangladesh or India and Nepal relations are on EQUAL terms. US is the big boss in everything - economics, military, industrialisation and cultural output. We are macchhars compared to the US...on what basis will the US deal with us on Equal terms and on what basis are we to expect equal terms ?

The chapter is hilarious. It has some element of truth... there is an american endeavor to secure the natural resources upon which it is dependent by means of military campaign, and yeah, its a throw back to the years of european colonization, but at the same time, united states is the biggest engine from global change. it was the united states that inspired most european nations to abandon monarchies and replace them with democracies, its the american industrial complex that led the allied nations to victory in the second world war, it was the american ingenuity that won the space race, and it is the american market that is the single largest consumer of global manufacturing sectors and service sectors. while american invasion of iraq was indeed unjustified, christopher hitchens reasons, and i agree with him on this, that under the united nations charter issued following the first gulf war, iraq was in violation of several agreements, violations that could be justifiably responded to with a military invasion. nonetheless, this particular chapter needs review. more than anything else, i despise the small caricatures by the side of the paragraphs, especially one taunting that by "choosing the science subjects" the student would have been victimized by american hegemony. there is absolutely no justification for such a tone.

Agree with THX, there maybe facts in the textbook, but even CC would not claim it is a neutral write up (i hope so), if they really want to educate students on foreign policy, start with India's policy, this is after all an Indian text book. The tone is very sarcastic (not in a good way, I love sarcasm and satire), childish and pathetic.

Fact-quotient is not the point buddy.. Facts coould very well be some quotes from holy book too but they don't put it in text books for a reason.... Fact is not the sole criteria of what should be taught to kids in school..

Fact is not the sole criteria of what should be taught?? then what are the criteria, I am confused, I agree that text book lesson was OTT and pathetic, but seriously what are the criteria ( I am not being sarcastic here, just trying to understand how and who and what decides what goes in text books, science and math are kind of obvious, what about social sciences etc)

Criteria are those facts which are not contested.. Are you willing to allow the same soprt of facual vilification of USSr and China in the text book guess not.> same sort of factual vilification of islamic rulers of past I guess not.. Are u willing to allow same sort of factual vilification religious texts I guess now.. then why exception be made when those socalled facts badger USA..

Isnt contested facts an oxymoron? if a fact is contested then it becomes an allegation, I know I am being nit picky (because I get what you are saying) but someone else who doesnt get what you are saying may misconstrue what you are trying to say.
