Predator_05 Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 any other variation I can get in the market? whats a good flavor ( chipotle etc ) There are all kinds of slices. You will normally see delis having a range of salamis, pastramis, bologna (baloney), corned beef, beef brisket, smoked ham, honey ham, turkey, etc...there are many different variations, but those are pretty popular. Even more variations when it comes to cheese, especially if you go to an authentic Italian deli like that kind we have in NY/NJ I usually get myself a whole wheat sandwich stuffed with corned beef, some pastrami, provolone cheese with pickles, peppers onions and some lettuce...it really fills you up
Rajiv Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 ..following a diet which I picked and it said deli style chicken. I bought the slices last week was bored of eating the same, but pickles can give it a kick Are all sliced meats really OK? I am allowed sliced ham as well

I am allowed sliced ham as well Oh, i didn't realize you were following a diet. Well, in that case you should avoid a lot of the hams, the bolognas, etc. because they are very high in fat, very high in sodium. Don't touch the sausages. Cheap calories. Corned beef is alright, but i don't know if you can eat that. Just get some grilled chicken or something Are you buying your stuff from the super market (lunch meat) or a real deli ?
Predator_05 Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Supermarket' date=' deli is better?[/quote'] Of course a deli is better !!! Deli fresh meat vs processed, carcinogenic, "fake" packaged meat ? No contest there But if the supermarket is your only option, then you should go for oven roasted turkey breast. The Sara Lee ones are alright

CC1981 Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Rajeev, go into save-on foods or if you find individual delis in Richmond. Turkey is technically the healtiest to eat but also the worst tasting for deli meat ( it doesnt taste like anything IMO...a bit tofu-ish in that regard) but if you are allowed chicken, try black forest chicken or smoked chicken, some delis will give you cajun chicken in deli meat as well ( the save-on near kingsway and edmonds does that). As for your sandwich, here's how you make a kick***** sandwich: 1. Bread is the key : try the multigrain or oatmeal bread or if you like your bread to be plainer, try ciabatta or parmesan oregno 2. Next are the condiments : you need light mayo, mustard (dijon or yellow), some horseradish, you can try a lil bit of salsa (if you are allowed to), black pepper. 3. Load up your sandwich with some fresh sliced tomatos, a few spinach leaves (scroo lettuce- it'll make your sandwich go mushy so quickly), some pickles, a fresh slice or two of cucumbers, some jalapeno peppers, green peppers and some banana peppers. Then add the eat and add your condiments to it. I think you'll be blown away with the taste and if you wash it down with something like OJ or AJ, its a very healthy meal. Yum....dayum...no i am gonna go prepare what i wrote.. :-D
Rajiv Posted August 17, 2008 Author Posted August 17, 2008 I do exactly as above, just added pickle to the mix I just got chipotle chicken and black forest ham..I know what ur saying abt turkey, but its freakinn recommended everywhere I mix it up between superstore and save-on
