Chandan Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 UP vs TN seems well poised....UP with the upperhand one would say....cricinfo slow on the updates Last update for UP-TN match was UP being on 298/3. So about 148 runs away from taking the lead. In the other semi-final, I'm really angry to see how international bowlers like Zaheer and Agarkar are bowling. They've been trying to bounce out this pair since last one hour. Isn't it obvious that if you existing plan doesn't succeed, you shift to plan B of normally bowling which'll certainly put an end to this partnership?
ludhianvi Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 ^^Thanks Chandan.... Mumabi vs UP was what I predicted on facebook
Chandan Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 ^^Thanks Chandan.... Mumabi vs UP was what I predicted on facebook  UP are 331 for 3. Superb stuff from Shukla (130*) and Parvinder (!38*). Bravo! And here the duo of Dhruve and Makwana have held the Mumbai bowlers at bay. What a strange day!
SachDan Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Mumbai just a wicket away from a place in the final Saurashtra lost their 9th wicket as Powar picks up Jobanputra caught at slips.
Chandan Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Mumbai just a wicket away from a place in the final Saurashtra lost their 9th wicket as Powar picks up Jobanputra caught at slips. And UP loses its 5th wicket. UP 357 for 5. Bala has taken out Bhubaneshwar Kumar. Shukla is still there. PS: UP have lost their sixth wicket. Chawla gone. Game on a knife's edge there
Rajan Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 at last UP loses 4th wicket Parvinder Singh c Suresh b Balaji 138 (330m 341b 16x4 1x6) SR: 40.46 Fow: 335/4 (142.5 ov); Partnership: 272 runs, 111.2 overs, RR: 2.44 but TN is againt the wall-Shukla! 137 off 436 balls, playing for the last 9 hours. gave couple of catches, but Dinesh Karthik grassed them.stupid captain, incompetent keeper. Poor Baalaajee must have bowled 35 overs...for his 3 wickets. with Piyush and others to come , less than 100 runs for 1st innings lead, TN needs a miracle.
SachDan Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Powar - 4/108 and Kulkarni 3/82 pick of the bowlers for Mumbai
fineleg Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Parvinder Singh c Suresh b Balaji 138 (330m 341b 16x4 1x6) SR: 40.46 Fow: 335/4 (142.5 ov); Partnership: 272 runs, 111.2 overs, RR: 2.44 but TN is againt the wall-Shukla! 137 off 436 balls, playing for the last 9 hours. gave couple of catches, but Dinesh Karthik grassed them.stupid captain, incompetent keeper. Rajan Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 that nincompoop KKD and dropthiv patel have together dropped zillion chances for team india  i hold partiv patel for losing the sydney test(sachin 240*, india 700+)- he dropped/missed stumping against Gillespie when he was in an inngs saving partnership with katich. again in the chennai test (sehwag 190, last day rain, final barrier breached series)against Aussies, he dropped/missed Gillespie again when he was in a crucial match saving partnership with Martyn.it cost us heavily in both cases. in sydney huge- series win, away. in chennai squaring the series and not losing at home! but he seems to have improved his keeping ever so slightly. but dinesh karthik has a good technique, effects excellent stumpings, takes tough catches but drops easy catches!that angers more.
Rajan Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 And UP loses its 5th wicket. UP 357 for 5. Bala has taken out Bhubaneshwar Kumar. Shukla is still there. PS: UP have lost their sixth wicket. Chandan Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 UP vs TN : Praveen Kumar falls to R Ashwin, the offspinner. The plot thickens. 373 for 7. 73 more runs for the lead.
Rajan Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 UP vs TN : Praveen Kumar falls to R Ashwin' date=' the offspinner. The plot thickens. 373 for 7. 73 more runs for the lead.[/quote'] Thanks again chandan. i am very nervous now.
Chandan Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Thanks again chandan. i am very nervous now. UP need 71 runs, with three wkts in hand. Piyush Chawla and Praveen Kumar have thrown their wickets. L Balaji is giving it his all. Can he do it for TN? Can Shukla take UP to a lead and secure the final spot?
Rajan Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 7]pudhusa onnu vangalaiya? i think my grandpa used to have one National Panasonic transistor...:D i sent the details to my friends in US. BUT EVERY TIME THEY SAY-" Machchee, how can i ever go in to a sony show room and ask for a radio? if i ever say that, i wud have the feeling of the whole world watching me and wondering -a radio! why on earth some one wud buy a radio"! bought one chinese make in chennai- stereovision, anothere 10 band, it was waste of money. when ever i was at work or travelling or when i was in college class, sony wud be a great source of updates. even lecturers and school teachers used to send students for score update! but my daughter cant stop laughing when i say-radio! she says-"say FM. What radio, kedio".
Chandan Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Shiva, after sweeping Ashwin for four, has now reached 148. UP need 66 now, three wickets in hand. C Ganapathy has replaced Bala now. PS: Bala is back, and Amir almost plays one on. Lucky to survive. UP need 61 more.
Show_stopper Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Up have lost 7 wickets..Shukla still there. I'm not sure about the score but they are trailing by less than 100 runs..Hope they make it to the final.Desperately want to see Raina in the final!!
Chandan Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Good late-cut by Amir Khan off Ashwin. UP need 56 more, three wickets in hand. Amir Khan is batting sensibly with Shiva. And the last throw of the dice by TN. New ball taken. Bala will operate. PS: And Shiva has reached 150, easily his best effort in a six-year-old career. Yestrday, 103 not out, he was saying his job is only half done. He wanted to see the team through. Will he manage to do it? UP need 50 more, three wickets in hand.
