triam Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Is there a reason that boxing is the only sport that professionals are not allowed in the olympics?
THX_1138 Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 Is there a reason that boxing is the only sport that professionals are not allowed in the olympics? well it has something to do with the fact that the boxing world is fragmented into two houses... one that is based in the united states and is comprised of the professional athletes who periodically engage in fights that are sponsored by corporate interests, and a second house, that is aligned closer to the International Amateur Athletes' Federation...
