This is the Dalai Llama you are talking about - in Tibetan Buddhism, he is the 14th deity of compassion. The Dalai Llama posing with someone or associating with someone isn't a proof-positive of that someone's good intent - the Dalai Llama treats practically everyone - including the Chinese governor of Tibet(nicknamed 'butcher of Tibet due to his ordering dozens of thousands dead due to 'sedition') - with great respect, joviality and consideration. I doubt the Dalai Llama would be anything but extremely friendly, kind and compassionate to even a total repulsive nutbar like Mike Tyson.
