suraj Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 All secondary and higher secondary school students in Gujarat will have listen to a live video address by Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, Teacher’s Day — whether they want to or not. Education Officers in every district have sent out a circular to all such schools making it mandatory for the principals to arrange for TV sets on the premises and ensure that all students and teachers watch the live telecast of Modi’s address on Doordarshan’s state channel. “Negligence in following the instructions will not be tolerated,†the circular warns, adding that there could be surprise checks. How the TV sets should be procured has not been spelt out. Nor does the circular make any mention of former president Dr S. Radhakrishnan, whose birthday Teacher’s Day commemorates. No teacher wanted to comment on the circular. But Congress leader Arjun Modvadhia said Modi was making a mockery of the occasion. “It is a day which celebrates teachers, in which politicians should have no role,†he said. http://publication.samachar.com/pub_article.php?id=2600304&navname=General&moreurl=http://publication.samachar.com/hindustantimes/general/hindustantimes.php&homeurl=http://www.samachar.com/mostread.php

You are a fanatical fan D_R, that's for sure I find it utter nonsense to make it mandatory for people to listen to someone in power on a day that should belong to someone else; we might as well start calling our country Pakistan if we are going to start doing this kind of power worship.

Well either I am a bad writer or you can't read at all- my point was not about what he is going to say or not but rather about making this mandatory. I don't give a damn whether he does kathakali or does mujra; whether you or me like it or hate it, it should be my choice and not a mandate that I have to listen to him.

Would love to see Modi do a mujra, even if it is mandatory viewing. Heck I will keep throwing chameli ka gajra and chawannis at him!
Willow_on_fire Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 So that 'baby killer' modi wants students to listen to his bakwas against their will....talk about democracy.
PaiN_KiLLeR Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 I don't know the contents of his speech but it is good to see a CM give some importance to Teacher's Day. Education unfortunately comes last on the priority list of most Indian politicians.

Education unfortunately comes last on the priority list of most Indian politicians. I don't know the contents of his speech either, but surely know that his goons attacked Muslim families in Gujarat. and they were so brave that hundreds of them had to huddle together, drink alcohol first (to muster courage) and then go on a looting, stabbing and raping spree.....what a bunch of ***s...and anyone who supports such killers are morally dead...:finger:

Please don't use your brain- its a futile exercise and painful for others.
