SachDan Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Police is of the opinion that its not a suicide bomber..
Lurker Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 What a shame. Indian Capital keeps getting hit by these small town goons. Considering the weapons were not exactly the most sophisticated, it begs the question as to why such people without enough resources are able to strike at India's capital and get away with it??? Delhi is alarmingly getting used to such bomb blast. I hope the Govt is able to do something about this rather than raising hue and cry about good for nothing issues. Also if the perpetrators are caught, if they are that is, shoot them publicly. No dignity should be given to them. Simple.
Guest Hiten. Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 effing crap. Another bomb blast in India. SIMI claims responsibility behind these blasts. RIP :((
Desi Cartman Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 for 15 mins my heart stopped. My entire khandan lives in delhi. Congress is pathetic ...
Desi Cartman Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Gujarat CM Narendra Modi on Saturday condemned the blasts in Delhi and said state police had informed Centre of a detailed plan of the terrorists much in advance. Earlier in the day, Modi led the BJP attack on the UPA for being "soft" on terrorism, claiming the ruling coalition had "failed" on national security issues by refusing to clear an anti-terror legislation for his state. "Those who are less for terror and more for terrorists are the one who opposes GUJCOC and POTA," Modi said, lashing out at the Congress-led UPA for keeping in cold storage the Gujarat Control of Organised Crime bill (GUJCOC) which was pending before the President for the last four years. ( Watch ) Intervening during the discussion on political resolution at party's national executive meeting here, Modi said "we are determined to carry on the battle both against terrorists and against those who prevent us from fighting terror".
suraj Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 for 15 mins my heart stopped. My entire khandan lives in delhi. Congress is pathetic ... same here I have been on the phone confirming everybody is safe and telling them to stay indoors Dad said they are still finding more

Kohum Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 @d_d & suraj - hope everything and everybody from your family is fine. RIP. It's really sad - that IM gets local support for such acts.
Chandan Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 What is the motive behind these blasts? What do IM or any other terrorist organisation want to achieve? If it is just to spread the panic or destabilise the economy, then it is not happening. Minutes after the blasts, instead of fleeing, people came in bigger number to watch the tamasha. Some female, when questioned what she was doing there and wasn't she afraid, replied that everything had calmed down so she wanted to see what was being done! Tomorrow, once again we'll see all these markets full of people. So obviously they are not panicking. Then? What are the terror groups achieving by these bomb blasts in Indian cities? And they certainly are achieving something, then only they are carrying on since last 20 years. So what is that motive?

They are trying to hurt India's economy for some reason. They also wanted to take on NAMO and thats why there were blasts in Gujarat. The solution is also simple but sadly our sarkar doesnt have the guts to do it, we need to fix Kashmir , hang people who are found guilty , go to UN officially with whatever proof we have to show the world what pak has done to India. but our PM has already carried out his duty by condemning the blasts .. this is what he did for Bangalore , Gujarat blasts , kashmir riots , Jammu terrorist shoot out .. so he has done his job
Desi Cartman Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 this is from cnn.com In the Jaipur claim, the group declared "open war" against India in retaliation for what it said were 60 years of Muslim persecution and the country's support of United States' policies. http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/09/13/india.delhi.blasts/index.html
King Tendulkar Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 So what is that motive? Further the cause of Islam and all its brothers and sisters! Its all done in the name of allah as their e mail states.
vroomfondel Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 5 blocks from my house. family's ok, still trying to find out about all my friends. it's getting annoying. not sure who to blame. govt, pak, us, muslims, hindus -- take your pick.
Lurker Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 What is the motive behind these blasts? What do IM or any other terrorist organisation want to achieve? The easy, and rather lame, answer to your question is these terrorists want to de-establize India, create communal differences and basically adversely affect Indian life. The deeper answer is well nothing. That is the problem. The people who are actually perpetrating these crimes dont have a motive in life and so they are taking to these kind of activities. Some with monetary interests, others brainwashed ideology and few others with grievance of their own. Now let me make sure that I am talking of the foot soldiers here. The essential foot soldiers that are being absorbed by these organizations are hardly a IIT topper who ends up putting a loaded gas tank around a crowded area, or a Medical Practitioner who ends up filling a bottle with nails and dynamited. The problem is confounded by the fact that Indian political machine doesnt have a clue how to go about it. There is a BJP school of thought who beleives in going hammer and tong after an entire community and basically alienate them further. Then there is the Congress school of thought where the plan of action is to do nothing at all! In my opinion we have to realize that we indeed have a problem at hand, a large community is basically being driven further and further away. And lets open the discussion on that rather than getting defensive about it every time it is raised. xxx
ludhianvi Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 What's alarming is the frequency of these bomb blasts and the inability to track these guys down. Hope all your guy's family and friends are alright.
vroomfondel Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 one thing that can be said for sure is that the cops did a decent job defusing a few bombs. and there was some 'emergency' machinery in place that saved lives--- http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/PoliticsNation/Major_tragedy_averted_in_GK-I_blasts/articleshow/3480484.cms
varun Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 My entire khandan lives in delhi. ... Yeah same here.. just called up home to check up. @Chandan: If a country keeps getting blasted, then you *will* see a decline in tourism, and maybe a decline in investment in the country, and I guess the terrorists hope for it to have a spiralling effect and hurt the economy. We need to come together as Indians to fight this menace. More people should enlist in services like the police, army, or heck just any kind of social service even. It could be just a 3-4 year period during which young people can get in, and the government can sponsor their further education in return. Schemes like this are essential to allow a better quality and higher quantity of servicemen to protect the country. We need better intelligence, more high-tech intelligence, and also we need our citizens to work for the country by being alert and by helping the intelligence out. I could go on, but it's not the right time or the forum to rant. RIP all the ones who died, and a speedy recovery to the injured.
