Hey guys, It's the off season in Canada right now and I want to use this time to take my game to another level. We don't have a coach anymore but since there are plenty of doctors, and knowledgeable users here i figured i'd take advantage of everyone here by asking some advice. Let's make this thread for specific exercises that will help a cricketer in all aspects of cricket. I'll make a list, and maybe you guys can help me with specific exercises or even drills. I'll add some idea of my own as well. 1) Balance - Skipping Rope, Stretches on One Leg 2) Catching reflexes - practice tough catches with a partner, meditation 3) Batting Reflexes - This is important, I want to improve this very very much...I'm pretty good against out and out quick bowlers but I want to get off that front foot quicker to cut/pull/hook So guys please contribute! Thanks!

Take up the following and the speed, agility and quickness will fall in place : Yoga Pilates Medicine ball and gym ball excercises Weight training For endurance you could do running, treadmill, biking and/or cross trainers These will only compliment your cricket but does not teach you cricket skills. For cricket skills training, put together an organized schedule. Practice one or two skills a week (such as bowling inswingers or playing straight drives). Over a couple of months or three you will have strengthened your muscle memory and you will be playing the ones you trained in the game with ease. Apart from the above physical and skills training set certain mesurable goals to achieve. You could try relaxation techniques and put together a game plan. This is part of the mental training and mental training is vast. Pick up a book called "Peak performance" or "In pursuit of excellence". These books will guide you through specific mental training methods. Good luck.....

During winter, I just stay at home and swing my bat in the air:D Actually, have setup this cool bowling apparatus which can bowl at speeds of upto 10 km/hr :D Can be quite fun.Perhaps, some day I'll show how to make it
