I did. Did you? What seems to have happened in Iraq in the last few months is that the Iraqi mainstream has finally done some liberating of itself. With the help of the troop surge ordered by President George W. Bush, the mainstream Sunni tribes have liberated themselves from the grip of Al Qaeda in their provinces. And the Shiite mainstream - represented by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and the Iraqi Army - liberated Basra, Amara and Sadr City in Baghdad from both Mahdi Army militiamen and pro-Iranian death squads. from: http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/06/25/opinion/edfriedman.php

Oh, I agree. The only redeeming thing about her is her stance on energy and abortion. But, it is all moot. Your slimeball-team is going to win.

Regardless, what is there to say? Friedman says clearly that the surge has helped, and the "war" is being won now.

Three cheers then..Afterall I wanted Mr. Slimeball to be the President hehehe. I actually feel a pang of sympathy for Palin, she is trying freaking hard. Going all the way to hog in Conservatives, right from usage of phrases like "Darn Sure", "Joe Six Pack". Heck she even said "East Coast liberal Politicians like you", something that almost every Conservative mutters under his breath. Still she is way too short of the league and it is McCain who should be blamed for putting her in this position in the first place.

In 2007. In 2008 (the article I posted), he said the surge is working. I agree that America needs to withdraw. I also contend that it CAN withdraw ONLY because the surge has brought order. The problem with Obama is that he called for withdrawals even before there was any semblance of order. But, he turned around and voted for the surge. He either can't make up his mind or he's a slimeball. I say the latter. Sorry I distracted you away from lipstick vs. slimey. G'night!

No, the point isnt about whether the surge worked or not. Sure, it did bring down violence levels, but is Iraq any closer to resolution or the War coming close to an end? Absolutely not!
