fineleg
Many threads and posts have discussed Indian-POV - what shud MSD and co. do today. If you were Ricky Ponting and Aus bowling squad, what would be your plan for today? Would you attack the hell against Indian batsmen or be defensive? If they are defensive, then they are trying to "prolong the Ind innings" and buy time from this Test. I believe the only way for them will be to attack like hell, and try and trigger a collapse of the batting order. What do you think Punter and bowlers will be planning today - that is also an angle that our batsmen should think and plan for. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
If Australia attack and bowl India out, they still won't be able to chase this down. If Australia are defensive, India declare and give them at least 4 sessions to bat, they still won't win and are unlikely to save. Ponting may be best served taking a lesson from Inzamam. Take Australia off the field, refuse to bowl, then after the match is forfeited file complaints with the ICC against the umpires (perhaps Koertzen for not giving Aus LBWs?) and it'll eventually finish as a draw. DomainK
Australia has reached a point from where the only possibilities are a loss or a draw. A draw can be achieved only by killing time only. The longer the Indian innings, the better for them. Link to comment
