PS -- Any of you get that nasty green stuff in your Brita jugs? that's because you got rid of the chlorine in the water with the brita. The instructions say to clean the brita with clorox to avoid that gunk -- clorox is bleach which is essential chlorine. so you basically put back in what you filter out. and the kicker...brita is made by the clorox company. DUN.DUN.DUN. I can see it now, Clorox marketing executive: "dude, you know that filter system we use to test our bleach with...well i'll bet we can sell it to n00bs 4 make benefit". :two_thumbs_up: wow, are u serious :hmmm: Btw, I dont get the green stuff you're talking about. Actually there are brita products that fit right on the faucet itself so it avoids the step you're talking about.

Actually there are brita products that fit right on the faucet itself so it avoids the step you're talking about. half-joking. although everything i've said is true -- clorox makes brita, brita gets rid of chlorine, clorox recommends cleaning brita jugs with chlorine(clorox bleach) to avoid green stuff. i'm sure the water tastes better after brita, but it doesn't really do anything 'useful'. it won't filter out viruses or bacteria, will reduce heavy metals by miniscule amounts etc. but it's awesome for vodka -- try throwing in crappy vodka and what comes out is liquid gold.
