Kumar Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 First of all before I continue, I know that this post will cause a few problems amongst users on this website, and they wont take it too kindly but I am doing this for a friend, as he had a terrible experience which I have to dedicate to. 10 Years ago on November 17th my friend Omar Khan who was a muslim and who I had a very good relationship with died. It wasnt an accident but overall intentional. While he was going home from a club late night he was ataacked and stabbed 3 times by a gang of "islam haters" who essentially called him a terrorist, paki, islam f**k and other names. He died, luckily there was a witness and the gang took full responsiblity, no one knows why that happenned but my say is that it was overall wrong and sick. Omar was a good guy, and a well respected person, who like others admired others religion, as we had a common interest in the teachings of buddha regardless of his islam teachings. I am saluting him on this website in memory of one of my good friends and also to say to ppl who dislike islam and others that islam is a religion and a culture which we all have to admire, and I know this may sond wrong as I am saying it to the nation who probably has had most displeasure with the islam society. So why Islam should be praised, well firstly one of the main reasons is that who all of us adapted from there strong academic skills. Ages ago, the romans, greeks, indians and other ggroups were top in academics and had some of the greatest scientists. Of course there were alot of arabic(yes i know that doesnt represent all of islam) scholars who had teachings on mathematics and astronoomy and medicine and were overall more advanced than other groups at a certain time. They based their ideas and teachings on the likes of the quaran and allah. There ideas were taken and analysed in to other ideas with were later discovered, I would say that we would have to say that islam and arabs have actually one something for the world in a good way, but there is more, as this is the first. Art. No mater were you go around the world, espeically asia obviously you will be amased by islam art. Itslef is amasing and a pure joy to watch. I thought the vatican paintings were amasing, though islam art is just that extra bit better. The likes of the taj mahal, arangzrab tombs, persian art, muhammads tomb in the mosque, quaran dare I say and other well knwon examples are how its portraited. It is beautiful. Anyone who has been to the middle east, indonesia and india can admire the art and cultrue of them. As well as atronomy, they came up with the numerical system, geometry and choreographyand much more. There scientists helped us with our predictions as well. The hub of isalm world has helped us in times against the Iraq War even though they are muslims, but i see extremists like suddan hussain different to the real islam people who say no to terrorism. They were the biggest allies with the USA IN THE WAR AND DID A GREAT JOB AS OVERALL iRAQ LOST AND SUDDAM WAS KILLED. This and much more on why islam world should not be disrespected. There is a difference bwteen extremist and muslims and until you know and get the difference in your head i suggest to shut up. Treat every other religion with respect! R.I.P. Omar:asleep:
