SachDan
Nothing compared to India's which Nimbus bagged for $754 million.that too for four years ! Still a whooping amount for PCb considering the uncertainity prevailing over matches to be played in the country. KARACHI, Nov 23 (Reuters) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sold its television rights for the next five years to the Dubai-based Ten sports channel for $145.5 million, PCB chief operating officer Saleem Altaf said on Sunday. Altaf told Reuters Ten sports had lodged the highest of five bids. Pakistan cricket has been hit hard by the uncertain security situation in the country with regular suicide bomb attacks. This year Australia postponed a test tour and the International Cricket Council postponed the Champions Trophy, which was to be held in September for the first time in Pakistan. India are due to tour early next year followed by scheduled tours by Sri Lanka and Australia and the Champions Trophy. http://uk.reuters.com/article/cricketNews/idUKLN45603420081123 Link to comment
Guest Hiten.
Nothing compared to India's which Nimbus bagged for $754 million.that too for four years ! This line makes me think, that you feel insecure about this deal. What was the need of comparing BCCI's revenue vs PCB's ? Link to comment
MalikBrother
You should understand that's good deal for Pakistan at the moment. Beside, no teams willing to tour in Pakistan. Therefore, Pakistan might lose more revenue to approach the neutral option. There is no need to compare this deal to BCCI. BCCI is number one rich board, with money and cricket to say! King
Good for them. They needed this otherwise we will see another test cricket nation vanishing into oblivion. There are hardly few test cricketing nation and the recent trend with a lot of them hasn't been good. I hope Pakistan uses these funds to help grass root cricket and find some good talent to represent Pakistan. Link to comment
sm332
this deal seems to indicate that Pak have gotten some kind of assurance from India that we will tour. Else, how Pak cricket is good for a 150mm investment - I am not sure? Link to comment
