fineleg Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 FM radio stations in US sometimes have websites which stream the same music being played on the radio, LIVE on the web. Thats nice. Question is: Can I somehow get the stream and record it in some format - mp3 or whatever? Is that possible? Any of you done that? Any suggestions? That way I can listen to it offline later. Is that possible?

Desi Cartman Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Its like how VCR records whatever is being played on channel . It just records the output from your computer's speakers. I use "Free Hi-Q Recorder" :yay:

With Audacity, its very simple, when you open the program, the input audio source is already set to 'wave out mix'. And you just hit the red record button to start:yay: You can also use other audio sources if you want such as line, mic,aux, cd ,etc Download Audacity from here. Is that possible? i had posted a similar thread ages ago, and holysmoke suggested a particular software called Hi-Q recorder that i used to record some bbc streams. the shareware version of the software samples at 92K, but the full version can sample at as much as 320K. it works really well, but it has compatibility issues with Vista, use it on an XP machine. and if this does work, please do thank holysmoke.
