In fact, Mumbai crowd can easily make mincemeat out of any jehaadi piglet. Problem here was that Pakis armed those invaders with Automatic assault weapons- like AK, which can fire continously. So as it happnened in CST, after initial firing Mumbaikars panicked. This was part of the tactics of piglets, it can only be employed by a well trained special ops mercenary who has been thoroughly advised about crowd behavious and reaction pattern of local public. I saw a good video where that only captured piglet was receiving nice treatment from crowd in Girgaum Chaowpatty. If Police did not intervene crowd would have dispatched him to his promised 72 houris right there.

Sandtest, I share your emotions, but we gain nothing by spouting off against the gunmen. As I have been nagging here (at my age, it becomes a habit), these gunmen are just the pawns. They are poor, desperate, uneducated youth and are exploited by the likes of LeT and Dawood. As a nation, we need to hit the big targets; the pawns will have nowhere to go, then. Second, as individuals, we need to find ways to help the familiies these real-life heroes like this Shrivardhankar and the security personnel (I posted a list earlier on this board) who gave their lives so I can sit here and type on a keyboard. I just don't know how to directly help these people, and it is beginning to eat me up.

It is obvious Cricaddict bhai, their trainers and financiers are still at large, celebrating and sipping zam zam water across the border in Pakiland. But that aside, these so called "Gunmen" (BBC eh?) are fully adult, grown-up terrorists. I am sure even though their lunatic masters across the border did all planning, training and financing, these fully grown-up believers have that much brain to realise that the men at whom they are shooting randomly are common unarmed folks busy with their daily lives. But still these jehaadi scums choose to slughter civilians. Showing any leniency to such cowards will be insulting souls of all deceased men and women. And yeah, given the pathetic governance system and vicious atmosphere of political correctness we are living in, I am all ready to embrace that sad day, when the only caught terrorist is pardoned from getting hanged ( Afzal guru way). Sooner or later we will find another Arundirty Roy appears on stage and demands Biryani-Pulav be served to terrorist in Jail. She will be hailed as glorious beacon of humanity, love and affection and showering Booker prizes.

I agree that the terrorists who were caught (I should've used "terrorist," not "gunmen" - my fault!) are the scum of the earth. But, punishing them is just the beginning. We should not celebrate killing them, becasue that does not represent a victory. We should not lose sight of the real problem that goes way beyond the Ajmal Kasab's of the world. To give a really bad cricket analogy - killing/capturing the terrorists who struck on that day is like hitting Michael Clarke for a 6 on a flat pitch during a meaningless series - it has to be done, but it is not a big deal. The real test of a batsman is to see if he can hit Ajantha Mendis' carrom ball for a 6 on a deadly wicket on the last ball of a 50-over match with 6 runs to win and 1 wicket in hand - in the World Cup final.

From Rakesh Maria's interview: 12maria-1.jpg full link: http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/dec/12mumterror-where-was-the-question-of-negotiations.htm 1. What kind of men were these 10 terrorists? All 10 were between the ages of 20 and 28. Kasab is 21 years old, he failed in the fourth standard in his village in Pakistan. The leader of the group, Ismail Khan, was 28 years old who had passed the 12th standard. Uneducated youths were trained to be terrorists. All of them were unemployed. Indoctrination and brainwashing were done to make them fit to send them on a mission like this. 2. Pakistani journalists who know the Taliban [images], Al Qaeda [images] terrorists and local militants quite well say -- how come Kasab is singing so easily and revealing so much so soon? What do you mean by "singing" so much? He is telling us what he has actually done. Do you mean to say if he says the same thing after a year you may believe it? If he is trained in not telling his captors the truth, so what? We are trained in interrogation. If he was trained for one-and-a-half years in terrorism, we have undergone training for three years and 27 years of service. Kasab (his interrogation) is not a challenge. For us he is not a tough nut to crack. They are indoctrinating them into coming and doing such an operation. But the moment they are caught the terrorists realise that all what their mastermind said was not right. 3. Like? This fellow's (Kasab) story is that he was told that even if you die during jihad your face will glow after your death. He was shown photographs of his dead associates. Then Kasab told us he was not told anything like this could also happen.

More evidence that Kasab and his ilk are just the small fish. I would not even be surprised if they were drugged. I am no military expert, but somehow, we need to finish them at the source. And we need to nail the ba$tards in India who may have helped them.
