Afterall his family has always been involved with politics, parents and siblings included. What surprises me is his choice of party. Why SP? And why Lucknow? The only reason I can think of is because Sharad Pawar and his Congress led Govt allegedly went after Sunil Dutt's son and right wing BJP/Thackeray celebrated it. But other than that I can see no reason why SP???

That he had a Gun. Well he got punished from Court for that. Now get a life. My reasoning was rather simple, which you obviously have a hard time understanding. Sanjay Dutt has reasons to be miffed by people who went at him from a political angle. Which may be the reason why he has chose not to go for the two major parties of the country and has instead gone for a party that is largely non-existent in his own constituency. Whats your problem with that simple thinking?

Was convicted, yes.....but hasn't spent the time in jail due to one appeal or another. On topic, don't think he stands a chance against Vajpayee.

Much as I like the guy this is too old an age to run for MP.

If it was upto me 65 would be the retirement age for running for public office. Too many old farts in politics.

On technicality he got away that too after TADA was dropped and you have nothing but sympathy for the guy but you go on and on about others who don;t have even any case agisnt them in any court.. So was wondering how do people like you take this sort of inconsistent stand.. Unless you consider yourself god who knows everything court be damned I wonder how yoou come up wiht this kind of nonsense.. HE is a convicted Ak47 wielding criminal and parties like SP is more criminal friendly that's why he has chosen them.... And Lucknow well it has sizable muslim population hence the choice of constituency

I though wonder people who have sympathy for thsi bonafide thug presumably change but there is no doubt he used to be thug and was in cohort with 1993 bombers..These are same people who will fry others without existance of even a single court case let alone conviction.. Some intellectual honesty at display
