When Sanjay Dutts hearing in court was at peak, Priya Dutt ran to 10 Janpath and washed feet of Sonia Manio. Manio blessed her with "Charnamrit" and there goes the case. Sanjay Dutt contesting at SP ticket is more of good relation and positive influence of dealmaker Amar Singh with Sanjay Dutt than anything else. Had it not been Sanju baba's case, even Priya Dutt would have contested on SP ticket from Bandra in last election. Now SP has decent support base there. Their Muslim candidate Baba Siddique had already once won election. Lurker's theory is again derived from elite, coffee sipping, golf playing writers and their written books about Mumbai, far from actual reality. A two faced criminal like Sanjay Dutt will never give two hoot about his past support from parties, all he will care is where his maximum benefit lies. he knows SP and vastly ignorant UP population is a good opportunity for him to get elected and settle his past deeds. No way Bandra populatioon or any Mumbai contituency will elect Sanajy or Salman. Given Mumbai attacks and anger among public it is more difficult now. Amar Singh is suave, smart and opportunist who has thwarted Mulayam's court cases successfully so far (read the thread about SP). Sanjay's confidence lies in him at the moment.

This statement is a topi drama which she learned and which kaangressis do on regular basis. This is to save face and so called lost honor of kaangress and prove Dutt family's loyalty to Dynasty of kaangress. I bet my entire salary, if Priya Dutt was not given kaangress ticket from Bandra, even she might have contested from any party ticket including NCP and SP. She has good relations both with Sharad Pawar and bollywood dalaal Amar Singh.
