hahaha' date=' 1568?? wow, I earlier said not anecdotal, this precedes anecdotal, this incident is mythical.[/quote'] But it proves the point, torture works. Chinese torture is also very cruel, they can cut your heart up and you live long enough to see it stop.(as mentioned in the James Bond movie)

Dude, please the links I posted in post 45 before you say torture works or whatever. Of course police officers will say torture works, cos they tend to compensate their lack of manliness by beating up people who cant beat back, in the USA police officers are forbidden to torture prisoners, who catches more culprits Indian police or the american police?

Torture works those seasoned crimnals are nto going to open their mouth if asked politely..

That is not true, catching criminals is only half of the story, eliciting confessions is the other half. and the us police force manages to do that very effectively without resorting to torture of any kind. Please read this
2 Everyone talks sooner or later under torture. Truth is, it's surprisingly hard to get anything under torture, true or false. For example, between 1500 and 1750, French prosecutors tried to torture confessions out of 785 individuals. Torture was legal back then, and the records document such practices as the bone-crushing use of splints, pumping stomachs with water until they swelled and pouring boiling oil on the feet. But the number of prisoners who said anything was low, from 3 percent in Paris to 14 percent in Toulouse (an exceptional high). Most of the time, the torturers were unable to get any statement whatsoever. And such examples could be multiplied. The Japanese fascists, no strangers to torture, said it best in their field manual, which was found in Burma during World War II: They described torture as the clumsiest possible method of gathering intelligence. Like most sensible torturers, they preferred to use torture for intimidation, not information.
