However this issue has been handled in Hindi movies earlier as well. In the 70s and 80s you would often see a villainous type element who would kidnap kids, then either maim them or put them on the streets for begging. In the 90s this also turned another angle when educated characters would take to begging since they couldnt get jobs. Reminds me of the movie Gardish *ing Jackie Shroff where his friend, Annu Kapoor, takes to begging and becomes the Begging Mafia head of Mumbai.
