Mr. Wicket
Yes, yes... it'll really make my day if we see that fewer batsmen have registered their highest scores when Aag has played than otherwise. :P Link to comment

Mr. Wicket
Agree. The Age of TAV is a far more accurate way to describe the Age of the run gluts and high scores as well! Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Boss, I just tried sampling a few stats and made an amazing discovery. I'll start a new thread for this. :winky: Link to comment

Vignesh
Srinath took 51 of these 185 wkts. Request the breakup of the 185 wkts for other bowlers too Link to comment

Predator_05
Great stats man. One request - how many times has the Indian bowling attack failed to take 20 wickets in a test and how does that figure compare with other countries ? You can use the same time periods that were used in this thread. Link to comment

Predator_05
Thanks. Bowling woes indeed. Thankfully things are changing now though. Link to comment
The Outsider
Failed to take 20 wkts in a test. Sorted by the PerTest Column . This data is for overall. Will do the post 2003 later. Team TestsPlayed Failed PerTest Times Bangladesh 59 57 0.97 79 Zimbabwe 83 69 0.83 110 New Zealand 351 254 0.72 409 India 427 291 0.68 490 Pakistan 337 207 0.61 346 Sri Lanka 183 111 0.61 176 West Indies 453 260 0.57 459 England 893 479 0.54 822 South Africa 376 187 0.50 318 Australia 714 311 0.44 537 New Zealand : 1.64 India : 1.55 Pakistan : 1.39 Sri Lanka : 1.39 WI : 1.30 England : 1.23 SA : 1.14 Aus : 1.0 Divided the numbers by Australia's 0.44. The Outsider
Since 1995 : Team TestsPlayed Failed PerTest Times Bangladesh 59 57 0.97 79 Zimbabwe 73 60 0.82 95 West Indies 145 97 0.67 173 New Zealand 117 74 0.63 120 India 137 79 0.58 139 England 173 97 0.56 162 Pakistan 120 61 0.51 103 Sri Lanka 125 60 0.48 100 South Africa 163 66 0.40 116 Australia 163 49 0.30 94 WI : 2.23 NZ : 2.1 India : 1.93 England : 1.87 Pakistan : 1.7 Sri Lanka : 1.6 SA : 1.33 Australia 1.0 Again divided by Australia's 0.3 because taking 20 wickets in a test is a much more frequent happening 1995 onwards than before for all teams, so even though India's absolute ability to take 20 wickets has improved as it has for all teams, relatively it's still been around the same compared to other sides. The Outsider
Actually, better yet will divide the numbers by the average ratio. All years : New Zealand : 1.24 India : 1.18 Pakistan : 1.06 Sri Lanka : 1.06 WI : 0.99 England : 0.94 SA : 0.87 Aus : 0.76 1995 onwards : WI : 1.16 NZ : 1.09 India : 1.0 England : 0.97 Pakistan : 0.89 Sri Lanka : 0.83 SA : 0.70 Australia : 0.52 So yes, India has improved compared to earlier 1995 onwards. Predator_05
I wonder what the figure will be if you only look at tests played away from home. Link to comment
