graphic23 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 gambhir once took 3/12 against a very strong zimbabwe team back in 2002 I once saw him hit 4 sixes off the same ball. He hit the ball so hard that it circled the stadium 4 times and the umpire signalled six four times.

Guest Hiten. Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I once saw him hit 4 sixes off the same ball. He hit the ball so hard that it circled the stadium 4 times and the umpire signalled six four times. then maybe I saw a different game...because I too watched Gambo hit 4 sixes off 1 ball, only difference was the ball split into 4 pieces (as they use 4 piece leather ball) and ended up in north, east, south and west stands :eyedance:

amits Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 and dhoni is a faster bowler than irfan pathan, pravin kumar & balaji and its strange that he didnt even bowl a single delivery in this series. it was expected that dhoni would bowl some 4-5 overs this series. atleast today dhoni should have bowled. he was being missed a lot with his bowling. 4-5 tight dhoni overs at 135 kph could have changed things a bit its time venkatesh prasad & gary kirsten took dhoni bowling a bit more seriously, he has the potential to become our 3rd/4th pacer in the XI. and i have a feeling that dhoni in the future would win india a match with his bowling. tendulkar, ganguly, sehwag & yuvraj have all won india some matches with their bowling sometime in their careers, now its dhonis turn to do it go for it dhoni, show that u can bowl & bowl at >135 kph:two_thumbs_up:

amits Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 It seems you were the only one expecting the keeper to bowl in this series B-> its not just me. a lot of ppl were saying after dhoni had bowled against england that dhoni could be our 3rd pacer in tests & odis, but to not bowl at all says a different thing. and if players like irfan pathan, pravin kumar & balaji can play as specialist pacers, then y cant dhoni bowl even 2-3 overs in a match given that dhoni bowls at 130-135 kph & faster than the irfan pathans & pravin kumars its time gary kirsten & venkatesh prasad looked at dhonis bowling more seriously. we might even find a genuine match-winning part-time fast bowler in dhoni. bowling dhoni for 4-5 overs today might have helped us restrict sl to below 300

fineleg Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 sachin rox, pls. add this to the reason why Dhoni needs to be dropped. Did not bowl, failed expectations.

amits Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 and dhonis decision to not bowl at all today costs india the match given that dhoni was the 2nd fastest bowler in the XI today
amits Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 i cant understand whats there to laugh in this thread:dontknow::confused_smile:
Shane Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 i cant understand whats there to laugh in this thread:dontknow::confused_smile: Have a look
cochise Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I once saw him hit 4 sixes off the same ball. He hit the ball so hard that it circled the stadium 4 times and the umpire signalled six four times. I saw that one too...but you got one fact wrong...umpire signaled six only once but spun around four times which means Dhoni hit 24. This is the new umpiring signal (like a ballerina, hands up, on one toe spin...Umpire Bowden invented it)
Desi Cartman Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 tum sab jhooth bol rahay ho .. no one can hit more than 3 sixes on one delivery
