DomainK Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2009/02/20/business/AS-Japan-Work-Sharing.php They are slashing work hours and pay thereby ensuring that everyone keeps a job and some amount of income. So instead of firing half the employees, they would make them all work for some hours and take home some pay thereby ensuring that they dont lose their livelihood entirely.
fineleg Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 this is better than job cuts which affects millions in US
Willow_on_fire Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 job sharing so justified by Japs....:wtg:
Guest Hiten. Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I was thinking about the same. This indeed is a smart move instead of letting A make 100 and B make 0... either make it 50-50 or least 60-40.
fineleg Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I was thinking about the same. This indeed is a smart move instead of letting A make 100 and B make 0... either make it 50-50 or least 60-40. American orgs: To begin with (in good times): 80% money goes to top 20% people 20% money goes to remaining 80% of the people. Then: In terms of financial crisis, cut the bottom 80% of the people by 1/3 positions being cut. Then take the cost saved and give bonuses to the top 20% for "doing a good job to save costs" :cantstop:
