After watching the Aussies bat vs SAF

How can anyone still delude themselves that we still have the best batting lineup on paper. Man to man we are no match for the Aussie batting lineup. And this is without even brining any mental aspects of batting into the equation. These guys are machines. They know Saffies are big opponents, look how they have raised their game when it matters. True champions!

Re: After watching the Aussies bat vs SAF Yes Bumps, it feels bad, doesn't it? The Indian players will look on and wonder what could have been. They will die a thousand deaths over the next few days as they see these bravehearts perform. Winners and losers, they are born, aren't they? It's not really something you acquire as you go through life.

Re: After watching the Aussies bat vs SAF It takes very special skill level to do what Aussies are doing. Ie, To attack relentlessy, with as high a probability of success they have been able to maintain, against EVERY SINGLE OPPONENT they come across. They are playing Saffies as if we played Bermuda.

Re: After watching the Aussies bat vs SAF That said, am prolly comparing two teams on either ends of the spectrum. One team just bullies every single team that comes its way. The other looks scared & doubts its ability, the moment the opponent offers the slightest challenge I really believe we did what we did to Bermuda, only because our cricketers realized Bermuda is a very weak team and arent as good as us.

Well said. Its depressing to think that the current generation of our cricketers (who are deemed to be the best ever batsmen ever assembled together in an Indian lineup), arent good enuff to win consistently, leave alone be world champs.

Re: After watching the Aussies bat vs SAF It is one thing to be agressive and play fearlessly, but another to not get out and keep going. You need to do both. The way Gilly and Hayden were both timing and powering some pretty decent deliveries from Ntini and Pollock, I doubt our Uthappa, Sehwag and Ganguly could have done even if they had decided to play fearlessly.

Atleast in Indian Cricket, you need someone like Kapil dev

Exactly where were you guys during the last 2 defeats of the Aussies at the hands of the mighty English team and NZ
I think those few matches were just a blip. Its kinda dangerous coz it might have woken them from their complacent "cruise control" mode. Look at the way they have absolutely massacred SAF which is ranked as the #1 ODI side currently !!!! :chin:

NZ ODIs were all masala. Its like India beating SL in India. Besides, Aussies were missing half their lineup. Defeats vs Eng were bad. Hey, every team loses, how badly & how frequently u lose is what matters. Even the loss vs England, was a close game. In games that matter, Aussies lose rarely & never lose without a fight.

Re: After watching the Aussies bat vs SAF Problem is, we can talk about this till we are blue in the face but you can't teach it. Certain people will just walk into a room, and everybody knows they are in the presence of a winner. It's like trying to stand as straight as you can and making a show of talking back to a 6'3" guy with a cleft in the chin and a Tom Cruise smile, with a Harvard PhD to boot. You feel hopelessly outclassed. Sport is no different. You can spot the winners, and you know too that they can spot your fear. From that point on, it's an unequal contest. It's how the Tiger Woods, Michael Schumakers and Roger Federers of this world stay ahead of the crowd.
