Ram
400 will be a good ‘nice-to-have’, a nice psychological milestone. But we’ll probably be bowled out for 385. Link to comment
satishg
satish, catching will be the make or break. If a Guptill or Ross Taylor or Ryder gives you Half-a-chance, can we convert it into a great catch? If yes, we have a very good opportunity in this Test. Giving a life to these sort of players have been very expensive. catching is a make or break in all tests..so wats new..anyway the point is unlike Napier this pitch will create more opportunities for our bowlers to take wickets and we just have to grab it.. suraj
I don't think Munna and Ishant can get us to 400. If zaheer had stayed till the end could have been possible Link to comment
cochise
They could have if Munaf played his shoulder shot like he did yesterday a few more times. Link to comment

Ram
It doesn't really matter' date=' though it would be nice to get there. We have more than enough runs to take a comfortable first innings lead of around 100 and close out the series by batting in possibly the best batting conditions we will see in the match during the 3rd innings.[/quote'] Shwetabh' date=' shouldn’t you wait till NZ bat again before declaring this total is good enough?[/quote'] What's the fun then?:giggle: But really, looking at the bounce and carry that was there on the pitch and the swing available well into the 50-60 over stage suggests to me that we have got more than enough runs to take a 100 run lead. The pitch might actually quicken up a bit tomorrow and if we get some breeze going it's going to be tough work for the batsmen. On a slight tangent though, I cannot understand why the timings for the last two days cannot be changed when it's apparent we will have curtailed days because of DST. :hatsoff: Link to comment
