Desi Cartman Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I have digital TV in the living room but not in the bedroom and since the IPL games finish at 5am AST I am thinking of hooking up my old TV (Cheap brand TV with a DVD built in). I found the cable to connect it from a store but its for $97 (I have bought it and will return once I get my cable from ebay ). Now I have used my laptop and PC with the Plasma with VGA to VGA cable and have never had any problems but while checking this item on ebay I found this note: Your VGA card must support TV out directly through VGA port function. Please consult with your VGA card's user manual for more information. How can I find out whether my Laptop/desktop have this function. The expensive one that I bought has a USB cable as well and that powers an attached converter. Is there a way to find out if the one on ebay will work as well ? Thanks in advance :two_thumbs_up:
Rajiv Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Desi In my understanding, what this cable does is facilitate Video Out from VGA, ie something similar to what I have It means the Video Card should be able to Output Video Signal to a TV, not your conventional monitor type situation. Although I have never used that kinda of system, but I doubt average laptops that kind of Video Card The Vid card must have some settings to configure the 2ndary Display

Although I have never used that kinda of system, but I doubt average laptops that kind of Video Card My friend bought the expensive one and it worked .. he is still waiting for the cheap one from ebay. So you reckon the cheap one should work or not ? :hmmmm:
